I got notice that our application was sent to Moscow on Sept 21,2010. We never got word that they had opened her file for 4 months. Now we are 3 1/2 months since they gave us a file number but we have heard nothing since the initial letter saying they were processing the application ... ?
I am returning to Russian in a short time. I am considering asking for an appointment with the consulate there. I think I also will try to get the CBC NATIONAL News " GO PUBLIC " to pick up our case.
I suspect that kind of public scrutiny might shake it up a little. If I was that consulate employee faced with having my name on the National news in a negative manner, I would pay close attention to the issue at hand.

you are still within normal processing time. 2 people last week that had applcation sent to moscow sep 21 got promise of visa letters
i dont think cbc would do anything
order gcmc/ caips notes see what they say, then go from there

Hey guys. I just checked my status in the cic.gc.ca website, and all it said before was application received November 2, 2010, and that's it. We've got out AOR on January 31, 2011. Now the status changed to "We started processing *** *******'s application on April 8, 2011. Medical results have been received". Does that mean they've just started looking at our case now? Does anyone know? Thanks!

that's crazy, my ecas still says application received, even though i got my AOR Feb 1 2011. I dont pay attention to ecas anymore. i hope they are working on the applications, order caips/gcms notes to see the progress

Re: TRV - Moscow Application Processing Office

Hello all. A simple question if I may...

While waiting for her PRV to be processed in Moscow my wife has applied for a visitor visa (TRV) to come visit me in Canada. This is what is called by the CIC dual-intent and it is fine with them (and understandable given the time delays we experience to get a PRV).

My question(s): how many of you are (or were) in the same situation (PRV+TRV) and will the Moscow visa office call or send email/snail mail letter to tell if TRV has been accepted or refused before sending back her passport?

Thanks!

We applied for trv.moscow received docs on april 14. Next day wife received a call from moscow to send bigger pictures.new pictures received april 20.i think we will get it due to wait times for prv.i am going to russia may 21,hopefuly comeback with the wife

Hello Dmitri. What pictures? Pictures for PRV or for TRV? Pictures of the two of you or visa/passport type photos? Thanks!

Trv photos. They need 2.we thought trv and prv are same size.aperently not

Hope the best for you guys to get TRV. It's been over 3 months I haven't seen my wife... Pretty damn depressing even though I COULD expect PRV shortly, but really, who knows...

Can't wait till it's over, I'll be the happiest person that I think I have ever been when this is over and done with! :D

P.S. For some reason I'm not getting notifications of posts in this thread. I think if you don't write within a month, you don't get notified.

Re: DISGRACE on Moscow Application Processing Office

Friends, my wife just got result for TRV application: REFUSED !!!! This officer (by the way anonymous!) thinks that she will try to stay in Canada illegally if denied PRV!!! Unbelievable!!!! Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty ??

We have a PERFECT case: both professionals with graduate degrees, married with no children, model citizens, perfect health, no reason to doubt any information supplied, plenty of proofs of our relationship, I am already her cic approved sponsor, she already has Quebec's approval (CSQ), etc., etc.

This process is SO disrespectful and humiliating for our spouses! Moscow visa office is a real disgrace to us all and tarnishes Canada's image abroad. As it is well known on all forums, even Kiev's office is more swift and lenient. It is time to expose this PRV/TRV situation at the Moscow office and let our voices heard. Timing is perfect: elections soon!!!

Wow thats disapointing. How long did it take from the time it was received by moscow. Is that her first time applying for visitors visa?

Dmitri, thank you for your kind words. Yes it was her first TRV application. It took them one full month to write the refusal letter (actually just to put a check mark in a box because the letter is standard and, by their own rules, cannot be altered by officers) and then another 3 weeks (!!!) before they mailed it (with passport) back to her by Pony Express.
What a shame as a taxpayer (and a paying user) to support such a system!!! :-[

Thats not reasonable. If we are refused we are going to apply again when i go to russia.i though most likeky they will give it to us because of backlog,i guess not.heartless.4 weeks till i leave.

Sorry to hear about your recent news Ubernemo... You're not the first and I agree that this process is VERY difficult for us all! You may consider putting in your complaint with your local MP. They need to be aware that our marriages are already in a very difficult state to deal with during the PR application process. Then they don't allow us to have our wives to visit.

I think that in your case, education, jobs, etc. etc....That there should be no reason for them to refuse. We shouldn't be refused simply because we're going through PR. They should treat that separately. It does not make sense that some are accepted and others refused in similar cases.

Anyhow, this only justifies why we didn't even bother applying in the first place. I didn't want to set myself up for disappointment in an already difficult position...We choose to wait it and and for me to visit her...No other BS...

We're still at the edge of our seats and even at this time I don't feel so good about it. Really, we won't until it's over and we have proof that it's over (her being here with me). It's just an endless possible black hole until then, because you never know what can happen.

Anyhow, went on a little vent session there! :) Apologies, might as well keep up the theme with your frustrations

Does anyone know where I should send additional proof from my last visit to Russia? Thanks.
