Do you think they will make this out to be a problem at the Port of Entry (Border) in Canada??
I would be surprised if they checked again employment status at POE after TRV has been issued. Maybe they could do it for PRV but I think they reserve final decision for border officer in case something really wrong (e.g. being arrested, etc.) is discovered about immigrant between time the PRV is issued and the landing at POE.

About landing for PR (not TR): http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/landing-in-canada-all-you-need-to-know-t36735.0.html

Yoohoo! :) My wife finally received AOR today by email. Letter is dated March 1, 2011.

It also contains the Application GCMS number: F*********
This is the number to use in e-CAS as "Immigration File Number" as well as her information (surname, birth date and place of birth).
It then showed the same info as with Client ID number and my info.

My wife sent me this very interesting recent video (March 10, 2011) about immigration where Moscow (Kathleen Sigurdson, in Moscow for only last 6 months) and Kiev (Thomas Richter) immigration offices are represented:
mms://hocca.wmod.llnwd.net/a4502/e1/2011/2011-03/00020c3d.wmv

Sigurdson describes local staff (28) in Moscow and says that "unlike many missions there are no local decision-makers in Moscow" (explanation by Gilbert at around 28:00 in video).

Also: "in 2010 TRV applications (25024, 81% approved, 17% increase compared to 2009) were prioritized compared to PRV".

PRV refusals (200 in 2010) only 5% due to fraud.

Moscow Family class: 56% of 551 applications are Spousal in 2010 with 80% of cases processed within 9.4 months with approval rate of 91%. Refusals are mostly for fake marriages of convenience.

In comparison in Kiev: 55% of Family Class applications are Spousal. 80% of cases processed in 11 months with approval rate of 81%.

Immigration to Quebec: preselection (CSQ) is made by Quebec. 4% of applications are rejected at federal level based on health (most often) or security reasons.

Gilbert: "new (computer) system finishing to be put in place next week". This means essentially now.

Anyone else seen it?

Hey longway, we're very similar in timing. Keep me posted if you get approved soon. We're both expecting anytime! like now or even another 2 months possible for me. It's driving me crazy! :-\

Congratulations ubernemo! :)

I also seen this video and it doesn't sound good for Moscow office :(

I see this recent meeting as a good thing: it puts Moscow's office under the spotlight in regards to processing times and puts pressure on them.

It also shows that 25000+ TRV applications a year divided by about 25 officers makes about 1000 applications per officer divided by about 200 work days a year, so they have to process about 5 applications a day (over several days) without mentioning other tasks so...

Well, I'm not sure what to think, but I know that I don't expect something to happen for me at least another month :( 2 is probably practical and as much as that saddens me, nothing I can do. I wonder why they didn't update avg processing time for 80% to 9 instead of keeping to 8.

I do really hope things get better for us rather than worse.

I ordered caips a while back and got last week. Not much happened in 2 months after AOR except comments of our story and facts as well as doc request (my passport scan) and file sent to LEV on Jan 22 (which I think means to start security checks). I will get second caips order first week of Apr and hope to see more progress.

Keep positive guys! I know how hard it is! It will all happen for us soon :)

Here's a link to the transcript of the video I mentioned on March 15 (a few posts back):

http://www2.parl.gc.ca/HousePublications/Publication.aspx?DocId=5038675&Language=E&Mode=1&Parl=40&Ses=3#Int-3798871

Here's an extract:

My name is Kathleen Sigurdson, and I am the immigration program manager in Moscow, Russia.

I would like to provide a short overview of the program in Moscow, emphasizing topics that I believe are of the most interest to the committee. The Moscow visa office is a full service centre, serving a vast territory spanning nine time zones and comprising six countries: Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyz Republic, and Armenia. Of these countries, Russia provides two-thirds of the office's permanent resident application intake and 86% of the temporary resident application volume.

There are eight Canadian-based officers in Moscow, including two mission integrity officers employed by Canada Border Services Agency and 28 permanent locally engaged staff positions. Unlike many missions, there are no local decision-makers in Moscow.

Absolutely nothing new, my wife says all other forums are dead as hell. What boggles me is that over 500 people get approved per year in family class, so there are SOOOOO many people not on the forums unforunately.

My wife and I are getting excited for another month to pass, where we expect things to come to an end by then...hopefully :) It was 4 months since AOR yesterday...

Hey longway,

I didn't know you were 5 months in! For whatever reason I thought you got your AOR Jan.11th. Jesus, so that makes you ahead of me by 22 days (3 weeks)! Soooo, as I said earlier, in 4-6 weeks - THINGS CAN HAPPEN! So you are 1 week away from this point and should get very excited. Many people got approved before us at 5-5.5 months, this is why I chose this. This is from rusforum.ca and chemodan.ua as well as here. So this coincides with the 6 months on our original letters to be approved (in normal circumstances). I think it's still the same now, but they wanted to increase the range to 12 months so people weren't sicking there MPs on them after 6. A recent couple called their MP right at 6 months from the letter and the MP looked up the processing times and told them to wait until 8 months (as the website says).

So there you have it, I think in the next 2-3 weeks, you have a very good chance to hear something.

:)

Thanks for the info on the job posting, glad they are increasing their numbers.

Cheers! Post the instant you get approved!
