We got a request for passport photos on July 3, and mailed them on July 5. We had to send them from Ottawa to Paris, as PA is currently visiting in Canada, but we were only given the option to mail them to the Canadian embassy in Paris, no Canadian address was given (I was surprised by this, as I had read that others were given the option to mail to Ottawa if they were already in Canada). We were told that we could go through the change of address process for him, but we were scared of messing anything up since we were so close to the end. Canada Post tracking showed that the pictures were delivered on July 11. We hadn't heard anything since then, until this morning when GCKey updated and showed our status/final decision as approved. I was starting to get really worried, as the PPR letter states that you must respond within 30 days or your file will be closed, and today marks 30 days. We are taking the "approved" notation as an indication that they've probably now processed it and will hopefully send out CoPR soon (albeit to his address in Paris, meaning it will then have to be mailed to us by a friend).

Timeline:
Submitted: Apr 26 / Received: Apr 27
AOR: May 31
Sponsor ECAS DM: June 9 / SA received: June 26
MR: June 14 / Completed: June 22 / Passed: June 26
File transfer: June 26
DM in ECAS: June 29
PPR: July 3
Passport Photos sent: July 5
Photos delivered: July 11
"Approved" in GCKey: Aug 2

Today marks 30 days since RCMP and RPRF was requested/today is the deadline. We uploaded both to GcKey 17 days ago. Background check has been in process just about 2 months. We are hoping to get dm in a few weeks.

We received COPR yesterday!!! When we sent the passport photos to the embassy in Paris we included a little handwritten note stating that it would be preferable if the COPR could be sent to the sponsor's address in Ottawa if at all possible, as PA is here for a visit. I had very little expectation that they would actually do this, but today we got it in the mail here in Ottawa :-)

Now trying to decide whether to go to the States sometime this month and have him land, or wait until he comes back for good in November.

just so you know, 30 days, may not necessarily mean that they will look at your file the day they are due... my background check was in progress from july 2017 to march 2018 when we got ppr...

I understand that thy may not look at it right away. My background check has been processing a while too, not as long as yours, but more than others based on the stats on the spreadsheet for this year. We were also told that it doesn't always get updated on GcKey that they are reviewing and sometimes it just stays as uploaded. We are still being hoping to get dm before September though.

Hi all,
My file was received at CPC-M on april,5. Medical done and SA received. No AOR2 or file transfer email but background check started on june,11. How can i know where is my file being processed, at mississauga or new delhi? Are the outland files from new delhi, completely processed at mississauga?
Was your application transferred to NDVO or did it stay at CPC M?? I’m in the same situation so I’d like to know if my application could still be transferred or if it will stay in canada

Hi guys,
My husband sponsorship is outland from Egypt but lives out of status in France. Just got SA approval and then an email saying his application will be processed in CIC Mississauga. Is that a good or bad thing lol. Is it because its complex it stays there. I was confused. They still have not requested medical from him.

Thanks everyone

Hi can you share your timeline please?? If your application is staying in Mississauga I’d say that’s great news as they process things very fast.

Generally a good thing, applications stay in Mississauga when they are deemed to be less complex. They can still on occasion be sent on to another visa office at some point however. I don't know if his being out of status changes any of that, however.

Hi all

I am new to the forum and would like to share my timeline. My application is for my son who is only 1 year old, while I cannot find the thread for dependent child who is an U.S citizen.

24 May 2018 : Application received by Mississauga
26 June: AOR1
3 July: Medical request (Medical exam was done in the afternoon of the same date)
5 July: SA and Medical marked as passed in GCKey
6 July: Email said that the application will stay in Mississauga (AOR2?)

Since then there is no update. I think children category shall be faster while it seems it is not. And I also have a concern. Although I have received the AOR2, the status of PA in ECAS still does not show the line "we start processing your application on xxxx”. Does it mean that they still have not started processing my application? I see many case in the thread that PA normally have this line shown in ECAS when received AOR2?

Hi,

Good Evening.

My daughter's application for her husband's PR was received by Mississauga on June 26, 2018, but she is still waiting for the AOR1; does it take this long usually and would it be sent to the sponsorer's (my daughter's) email ID or the Principal Applicant's (my son-in-law) email ID. Of note, my daughter is in Toronto and son-in-law in India.

Request you to please advise, as was wondering to apply for Visit Visa for my son-in-law.

Thank You.

Got PPR by email today (16 Feb applicant)

(For info that might be useful for others, ecas still says in process, CIC says 'application updated' but still showing 'we are determining your eligibility' and background check in progress , typically confusing! Unlike a typical request where you have to go into your CIC account to view the letter, the email came direct from CPC-Mississauga and the letter is attached to the email).

Hoping for the same today. March 14th applicant.

It can take 6-8 weeks to receive AOR. That's about 7 weeks ago so still within the timeframe. It could take longer. It also may be delayed further if it was after the address to submit applications was changed to CPC-Sydney instead of CPC-Mississauga. I don't know for certain but if they haven't returned it to you I imagine they will forward it on to Sydney, but it would presumably take longer.
