I believe she's saying her husband does not have PR yet and they are still waiting on BCG to start, but he has already gotten a job offer so she is eager for him to get PR.
Oh! miss understood. Thought they already landed and are getting a new BGC done by the company.

I'm so happy to see a lot of these Mississauga people getting CoPR and landing. It makes me think back to the darkness of the beginning of the year where we were all lost, confused, and quite sad.
Congrats everyone!

Oops, yep, this is what I meant! Hoping we'll be one of those cases where we get BGC, decision made and PPR all in the same week :). Now wouldn't that be great....

So happy to see all of the CoPR and landing too - we just submitted in May and the impatience has really started creeping up in the past week or so.

Unless you are emotionally attached to some stuff I don't think it makes sense to move things across the ocean. :) it's not like electronics or other house ware are very expensive in Canada. :) You can initially fly critical stuff and ship by boat the as goods to follow. They don't care what you bring really...

I some what disagree. Not only would it be kind of a downer to ditch half the stuff you own and leave it in your home country/ sell it just to start fresh- UNLESS you don't have much stuff.
He could have a whole house with electronics and appliances that are new. I'd understand selling things like a fridge, washer, or drying. (big appliances) but pack up your flat screen or computer.

We're really back and forth on this. We're lucky since we have family here and so can store stuff with them rather than frantically trying to sell everything before leaving. There are a few things we really would like to take so I'm going to get a quote from a shipping company, but am bracing for sticker shock. Worst case scenario we'll bring empty luggage every time we come back to visit, and move our stuff one suitcase at a time :D.

Hello guys, got some good news today, I logged on my GCKEY and found out my BCG has started today!
I am June applicants. Got AOR1 on July 11th, AOR2 on Nov 14th, BCG started on NOV 22th. The line on GCKEY changed to " We are processing your background check, We will send you a message if we need more information.“ I believe this means BCG started.

Has anyone had full completion via Mississauga yet? Our application went in on June 15th, we have had sponsor approval in August and my husband has passed his medical test, just curious is it going up be quicker through there? Thanks

Read through this thread for the full history... lots of March, April, and a handful of May folks are fully completed with COPRs either in hand or en route in the mail right now :)

You moving from the UK? I got a quote to ship a couple of large suitcases from Northern Ireland to Vancouver and it was crazy expensive. Reckon we're going to put stuff into storage here and like you say - bring a suitcase full when we're going back and forth. Think I'm going to try and just pack really strategically (for the first time in my life, ever)

Is it that expensive to check extra bags? if it's only suitcases...

We're going from Italy (we used to live in Ireland though! Not Northern Ireland, just regular Ireland :D). I'd still be curious what they quoted you, just to get a very general idea. Like yourself, we only have a small amount of stuff that's really worth taking, but I just have no clue whether it would cost $500 or $5000 for shipping, you know?
