I have a weird situation going on with my medical and I'm being paranoid. Basically I'm pretty sure they don't realize that they don't have a current medical on file for me. Mine was submitted upfront but it was super old (like, from 2016, before they changed it) so it's expired now. I haven't been able to get through to them on the phone so I submitted a technical difficulties report on the IRCC webform saying that I think I should have received a medical request but it's not showing up on my account (basically phrasing it that way so I could report it as a technical difficulty, LOL). All the other July and August Mississauga folks got their meds request forever ago, so I do have valid reason to believe they forgot about me because I was dumb and submitted that other medical. I just don't want it to cause any delays at the end if I get approved and they realize whoops, I still need a medical. This process is turning me into a crazy person :)

I was worried about the same issue, and I know of someone whos medicals expired BEFORE they got it approved. so I'm sure they take those of use who sent medicals upfront into concideration and extend the medical validity on the CoPR.
Mine doesn't expire till Dec.2., but my CoPR should be here tomorrow. So I'll let you guys know if they extended the validity. or not.

I think they do extend it if it's just like a few months out or whatever, but my medical expired before I even got my AOR. Lmao

This happened to us. My husband is the PA and his medicals were submitted with the application. They were set to expire on 26-Sep-17 (one year after it was dated). When he received his AOR1 though, ECAS showed that his medicals were passed. We received DM on 26-Sep-17 (whether on purpose or by mere accident, I'm not sure).

I suspect that if your ECAS still isn't showing that you passed your medicals you've done the right thing by contacting them.

It showed that I passed my medicals before I received AOR2... but when I received AOR2 it flipped back to saying I don't need a medical. So that's why I'm a tad worried. But hey, it's easy to find things to worry about I guess.

Seems like a fair thing to at least ask about!

I wonder how long they extended your medicals then I know someone else in the same boat as you. At least you know they extended, but mine still nave ~2weeks. l hope they extend Just for my ease if something happens

Anyone else have jobs waiting on them in Canada? My husband (PA) was recently offered a dream job in Canada - great work, great pay, great organization. Everything will probably work out, but my biggest nightmare would be this employer having to move on while we're waiting and waiting and waiting for BGC to start...... obviously they know our immigration situation and will wait a while, but not indefinitely!

Landed today driving with my stuff from USA by land, everything was easy and friendly. No surprises. Now I need to get a sin and ramq...

Congrats!! Envious of your land transfer. Just the idea of moving our things across the Atlantic gives me a headache...

lol. why would they even do a BGC if you just immigrated... that's solid proof right there of the most in depth-approved BGC.

Unless you are emotionally attached to some stuff I don't think it makes sense to move things across the ocean. :) it's not like electronics or other house ware are very expensive in Canada. :) You can initially fly critical stuff and ship by boat the as goods to follow. They don't care what you bring really...

I some what disagree. Not only would it be kind of a downer to ditch half the stuff you own and leave it in your home country/ sell it just to start fresh- UNLESS you don't have much stuff.
He could have a whole house with electronics and appliances that are new. I'd understand selling things like a fridge, washer, or drying. (big appliances) but pack up your flat screen or computer.

I was getting anxious about our PPR because we did an upfront medical (we started the process before the changes) and our medical expires in December. I called my MP office who made it clear it was within the 12 month wait period and normally they wouldn't look into it but because of my medical expiry concern they would check. When they did the check, they found out that CIC had an expiry date for next September. My MP's office assumed we had submitted a second medical and I told them we had not, so the assumption is that CIC extended our medical.

I believe she's saying her husband does not have PR yet and they are still waiting on BCG to start, but he has already gotten a job offer so she is eager for him to get PR.
