We also just got DM in our ECAS, but the application details in the account have not updated and are still listed as "Background check: Background check in progress" and "Final decision: Your application is in progress.". Did yours update yet?

No, mine stayed same too without update. Only got dm in Ecas. I think we should just wait for PPR email, have you got your PPR email yet?

Hey Y'all,

I am currently sponsoring my wife for her PR (outland application) while I reside in Quebec. I received an email from IRCC about my sponsorship approval. I was just confused if that letter is the one I need to use to apply for her CSQ or am I supposed to be waiting on another email. As the current email just contains the following terms
"We are pleased to inform that you have met the federal eligibility ... "
Nothing with regards to Quebec or CSQ or MICC.
It would be great if any of you could tell me, if the email received is the one I need to using to apply for her CSQ.

No, I haven't gotten the PPR email yet. And having looked around the forum, it sounds as though the account only updates after PPR.

We got DM and PPR at the same time yesterday but Background check still says in process. I'm not too worried about that though. I think it changes to Approved when the COPR is mailed out.

Congratulations!

IRCC is extremely strict when it comes to extending a COPR expiry. They would see July 2018 as plenty of time for you to be able to enter. They don't require you to actually move to Canada by July 2018, all you have to do is enter and land. You can then immediately go back to the UK and come back to Canada when you are ready. When you land you would just fill out the "goods to follow" form so that you can import all her stuff duty free when you do actually move. I would not recommend trying to get an extension, I'd just pony up for a plane ticket so she can land and come back.

I don't know that they will send the PR card abroad (maybe someone else can confirm), but if your parents are in Mississauga, you could just provide their address and have the card sent to them. They can forward it along to you in the UK. It takes like 2 months for the PR card to come in the mail so you wouldn't want your wife to have to wait in Canada that entire time.

Even if she has a COPR I believe she might still need an eTA to fly in and land since she is not technically a PR yet, but maybe someone else can chime in there too as I'm just guessing lol

The only case I've heard of apps getting lost is getting lost in the mail between VO's, like during the transfer after AOR1 before AOR2.

Application submitted: Feb 13
AOR1: Feb 28
Sponsor approval: March 3
Medical request: Oct 4
AOR2 (processed at Mississauga): Oct 7
Background check start: Oct 17
Medical passed: Oct 19
Decision made and PPR: Nov 21
Waiting for CoPR

I hope mine comes soon. I’m a March 28 app. Bgc has not started yet

no im still waiting for my PPR email, i called CIC this morning and the agent told me my application has been approved on Nov 23th, ima just gonna wait for the email, congrats!
