We are both not in Canada, and we handed in our intention of moving back plan with our application. It worked for us perfectly. Sometimes the officer might ask you to provide your move back plan if you and your sponsor are not in Canada and didn't explained anything about it.

I did the same thing as you did through UPS. I used international shipping for sending, and domestic shipping for the prepaid return envelop. The difference is I didn't noticed about UPS used "domestic shipping" for the international package. I found out by myself 1 month later, I was worried...

This is such a pain in my ass. I asked UPS to pick the right service for me and they said UPS ground should be fine and even created the return tracking label from Ottawa to US for me in the post office. I just found out UPS ground is actually a domestic shipping method.
