"My body my choice": Nobody will tell you about this magical solution to avoid excessive delay by IRCC due to repetitive fingerprint requests!

A 2016 citizenship- grant applicant decided do a surgery to cut his ten fingers.

The applicant says, "In 2017, IRCC asked me to do fingerprint, and I did. In 2020 IRCC requested I do fingerprints and I did. In 2021, it is expected, according to call center agent, that IRCC would ask me to do fingerprints for the third time. Some people, who know how amazing the transparency of IRCC, say that most probably IRCC will keep asking me to do fingerprint every year till 2045. I find that the best solution to deal with this is to cut my fingers, so that when IRCC asks me to do fingerprints, I will simply tell that I do not have fingers. . . . I cut them all . . . My body my choice." :p

I had one of those requests also come in now for the 2nd time because my finger prints have changed.....my question is why on earth didn't they do a background check last year when they received my prints!

In your oath letter did you get the seat#? Mine is blank
Seat number is blank in the letter and will be assigned when the ceremony starts.
I received the letter yesterday. I can't wait until Nov. 5 and finally pass this bridge!

Hi All, I'm a bit confused with what is going on with my application. Me and my wife applied for citizenship in May 2020 and we have taken the test in June 2021. My wife provided the passport scans in July and ever since there is no news, I see on the 2020 excel that every one else got their DM. We are still waiting. Does anyone know what might be the issue here?

Have you made RCMP officer or any law enforcement agent upset from you? Like they wanted to take a right from you or step on one of your rights as a human and you said "No"? Most probably that is the reason your BG was not labeled "Completed" You should expect excessive delays in your application. You should be careful.

Hi - Mine is a family application of three (with my wife and son).... App sent in Nov 2019, AOR in Feb 2020...Test invite (only for me) in July 2021, Test completed in July 2021, Statuses (except oath) changed to complete on Oct 7 2021...but no update to DM or Oath...My wife didn't receive a test invite yet...is anyone in this group in a similar situation where only one applicant from a family received test invites and/or oath ceremony requests...wanted to know if i have to wait until rest of the family members complete the test etc., appreciate your input
Hi.. I am on the same boat. Statuses (except oath) changed to complete on Oct 7 2021...but no update to DM or Oath. In your old ECAS, do you have any line in addition to the below three lines (e.g one additional line for Citizenship etc).
  • We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on November 5, 2018
  • We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on January 17, 2019
  • We started processing your application on January 21, 2019
