we should all get together people whoz file is stuck due to background checks my parents application is stuck in background check since 2020 applied in 2019 and still after 5 years MP says cant do anything its third party doing background
WE all need to get together and sign petition so that they shpuld have fixe timeline to do background check like 2-3 or max 6 months not 6-6 years we all need to raise voice otherwise we will be waiting for our loved ones all our life :(

Hello folks,
I did applied for a visitors visa and it was approved after four weeks and they requested for my passport to stamp the visa and I did mailed the passport via DHL to the visa application center and the embassy confirmed that my passport has been received. Two days later they sent me a form to complete military service record which I did the next day as I had all the information handy; but it's about six months now I haven't heard from them.

What are your thoughts?
that is not right at alll ircc first gave you hopes approved ur visa than asked for military records i guesss visa officer just forgot to do ur background check and approved ur visa and after he remembered and put hold on ur application

@legalfalcon - Hello, We need your input on this matter please. This thread has been created specifically for PR/ Citizens who have applied for their parents visit visa from different parts of the world to come and visit them, and see the new life they are leading.

But because of their old military service record, IRCC has kept our family’s applications in Limbo. Some have been waiting for more than 2 years. All this for our retired aged parents, most of which are 70+ years old and (can) have limitations of travelling. For me personally, i will completing 1 year soon waiting for the process to finish for my parents who have a rich travelling history all across including US Australia and Europe.

Is there no right an applicant have on timelines other than going for Mandamus? Some folks on forum have said Mandamus is no guarantee too as the judge goes in favour of security agency timelines. Our MPs have gave up on giving us a fruitful response too.

It will be great for you to throw some light on this. Thank you @legalfalcon in advance. What is the best course of action we can follow ?
