Sign in (cic.gc.ca) which one is this portal? Old or new? I used this!

This is a new portal. Did your parents files got any response yet when you applied via this portal

I took the help of local MP and was informed the same that visa office is working on background verification and these are non-routine file- so no time frame! Rest Medical, Criminality and Eligibility passed - Application dated March 7 , additional docs under review since June 28th

Yes I also reached out to my local MP and got the same response as yours. Application dated Jan 28. ADR under review since July 2023

My Parents Medical expiring on Jan 17th. Does this affect the file? Do they have to redo medicals?

I think that should not affect as the file gets locked when we submit it. My parents medical is also expiring thin jan

I submitted visitor visa application for my parents on Jan 26, 2024.
Feb 6th - Biometrics completed
Feb 19th - Eligibility completed
Feb 20th - ADR for Military Information
Feb 21st - Submitted ADR, received by them. Background now in progress.

Any idea how long does it take for Indian Passport holders in such a case?

@Pdm_ca if you scroll back on this thread you will notice the wait time ranges somewhere btw 10 months to 1.5 year or more for military and police officials! But still you never know you can get early depends on the officer working on your file. These are non-routine files so, so standard timelines!

Oh my ! Even for visit visa they can take that long ? I wonder what they possibly do, contacting regiments etc.

@Pdm_ca I was referring to Super visa , am not sure of if visitor visa timeline is same but if they do the same background check than it could be the possibility

Yes, even for Visitor Visa timelines also range around same.
