Thank you, I think it was a mistake from Mississauga because my husband got yesterday an email saying that our application was send to Mexico, but Im going to contact them to make sure.

This is an unusual request for a Mexican applicant , you won't be able to Get a PGR with this letter .
you need to get in touch with CPC Mississauga and explain to them that you never resided in any country outside of Mexico and that PGR require a special letter from the embassy .

good luck

No, they only gave him 30 days to send his passport, and nothing else. It's been sent, but CIC account has not changed yet...
I hope they sent his passport soon...
Yes the wait is the worst, but is definitely worth it!
:D

Guys I am a bit worried it has now been 14 weeks since we sent our police check and we still have not recieved Passport Request. What could possibly be the hold up? I have not revieced a request to re do medicals and they have already expired....I need some positive feedback! Feeling very frustrated and hopeless that we will be home for Christmas ...:( Also people who have applied months after our application or around the same time have already received their request and we have the most straight forward case possible.... just feeling very frustrated.

Hi countrygal. Keep your chin up. I'm sure you'll hear news soon! It's definitely worse when you have a desired arrival date, which unfortunately is problematic when dealing with how this process works.

In the mean time have you requested GMCS notes? Or contacted your MP to make an inquiry on your behalf? It may be enough to just get the MCVO to pull the file off the shelf again and get working on it again if they are not. I can't recall if you had made these inquiries already.

Speedy Processing!

Thank you for your reply. Yes I have already contacted and received a reply from my MP. She didn't have much to say , all they said was they are in the "beginning" stages of processing my app which is hard to believe. I am relying hard on applying for an ETA come Dec 1st but not keeping my hopes up as I have heard it will cause a big red flag for my husband because he is married to a Canadian. I have not ordered my GMCS notes as I don't really see a pooint. I know it will tell me where my app stands but won't make the process faster. All I can do is sit here and hope. Thank you for the positive feed back! I appreciate it !

I doubt that it is in the beginning stages. Probably much closer to the end. There should be no problem doing the ETA. The fact that you have a PR application in process helps in authorizing as they know you are serious about his intention to properly enter Canada. Have you investigated the questions in the ETA application? Look into it to see what questions they ask. I would want to be sure that THEY KNOW you have the PR in play. It should make approval easier. I had looked into it some when our PR was in process, back when they were supposed to implement it on March 15th.

Speedy processing!

For those of you applying for ETA on Dec. 1st, make sure all your answers are truthful and make sure they match your answers on your PR application... One of the questions is asking if you have previously applied to enter or remain in Canada - "say Yes & state that you're applying for PR and include your UCI". The other question asks to briefly indicate if there are additional details regarding your trip - "say that you're visiting your husband/wife.... These 2 answers are very important....be honest on your declaration form as well. The last thing you want is to go to secondary check at the port of entry and get denied because you lied on your ETA application. Once you apply, you should get an answer within minutes.

You're very welcome countrygal! - we are all here to help each other.. At this stage for you, is almost a waste of time to get PPR.. Mexico will be a Visa free country as of Dec..1st and all you need is your COPR. Your husband can freely visit you while you get to the finish line :D

Yes I am very excited. Do you think it will be a big red flag and possibly a refused ETA for us having an application in process? Also if we get approved for the ETA what are the possibilities of being denied entry at customs in the airport? I'm very nervous about this. What are reasons he can be denied entry at customs? They may think he doesn't plan to go back to Mexico.

You have nothing to worry about. Relax & apply for ETA....if you haven't had any problems with your application, I don't see why you would have a problem entering Canada with ETA (unless your husband has committed crimes, etc...)

I would Be prepared at port of entry. I hope things go well at POE. What I am planning to do is to show that my wife still have significant ties in Mexico. So I am getting a letter from her employer stating that she is on vacation and she will return back after vacation. Also I am showing that she supports her family ( paying their bills etc ), and have made arrangements. I am taking healthcare policy for her for the time she would be in Canada.

I am doing the same. We have the following
1) letter from employer
2) apartment lease
3) letter from my family member stating we will be staying with them during our stay
4) will be purchasing medical insurance as well
5) Return ticket back to Mexico
