Chances are they wont give you any information if you go in person. they wont even give you information over the phone
even through a case specific enquiry email the info they give out is very limited.
if it was me i wouldnt go to the embassy, its only been a couple weeks, its normal for it to take a few weeks for them to get ur papers, look at them, process them, and decide what the next step is.
i would suggest just waiting a bit more. keep checking to see when they update ur new address on ecase. than u know theyve opened ur file and did something with it.

Thanks a lot LeisaP!!! I will wait to hear back from them and as they say on their letter, if I haven´t gotten the PGR letter after 30 days, I will get in touch with the Embassy...

How much is the fee? If I may ask?
I don't remember how much we paid but it wasn't that expensive.

If you don't remember that's a good sign, I was worried it would be a few thousand pesos of something :P

After we picked up the instructions from the Embassy we went to the bank to pay the fees and then to the Agency that does the PGR and then we had to wait 10 days for them to complete it. We picked up the PGR and then submitted it directly to the Embassy. You can also look on line to find out all the documents you need. My husband didn't have his Cartia so we had to do that before we could even start his PGR.

thanks so much. Best wishes ! :D

gsize,
Where is your spouse? And why has it taken 4 years?? Good for the 2 of you for being able to hang in there for as long as you have!

I am in Canada, my partner is in Mexico. We were denied (2010-not genuine) and had to wait 28 months to get Hearing in Toronto. Appeal was allowed and file is now being finalized in Mexico. I think the end is near but I cant handle the ups and downs anymore. The nightmare will end soon for us, one way or another. I continue to keep busy, try to stay positive and lots of praying ! (today is a good day) 8)

Wooow! So 2 of the 4 years was waiting for an Appeal?? On what grounds did they find your marriage not to be "Genuine"? I am hoping after 4 years of the both of you waiting you have finally convinced them to change their mind about your marriage. That's just loco!!!

A) we are common law
B) their opinion was that it was not genuine (i guess they know more than we do)
C) once you win your appeal...its just a matter of waiting to be processed once again. We are in the process of sending in all the final paperwork and should be concluded soon.

You have got to be kiddding me! You won your appeal and you still have to go through another stage of processing??
Wooow! :o
Maybe it's just another way for them to get money since it seems like ppl have the rejected decision over turned. I heard that the appeal process can be very costly or is that only the case if you have a lawyer to represent you?

Hey,

Sorry I worded that bad. The attachment just advised us that the embassy required the PGR to continue progressing our application. They advised us they had sent the PGR letter by regular mail but we could send a prepaid waybill and once received they would send the letter again. After sending the waybill it took about 2 weeks to get the PGR letter.

Hello!

just a question, when is the time when u send the prepaid waybill? after you receive the notification to get ur police cert?

Im from MExico City.

Thanks!

I would wait until they notify you that they sent you the PGR instructions. Don't rely on the mail system!!! Definitely send prepaid waybill!!

Did the IO feel that your husband did not have enough knowledge about you or your relationship? I don't live with my husband so always wonder what kind of questions he will be asked if he is called for an interview. Are the IO's in Mexico
City nice?? ???
