I quit my job. I got my Visa and I bought my plane ticket for Nov. 17I even got to chill with Sillymemo for a while, we got our visa pretty much at the same time LOL. It's always nice to meet a fellow forumer in person.
They sent me an email on October.26th requesting the interview for November.20thmissmymexi said:Was just trying to update the spreadsheet and add edgar and BC moms recent news (wahooo!)

Just curiousWantToBeInCanada said:Jeduardo i've been told that in order to apply for a visa you need an anchor to your country
something that proves that you're going to come back, that's the reason why i haven't apply for a visa
because i dont have nothing that attached me to my country, i live by myself here all my family is in US
and the others in canada, i would like to apply for a visa because it would be very frustrating for me to spend christmas
here alone, but in the other hand im afraid to get my visa denied and affect my process for that
Any suggestion guys?
I received the AOR from the embassy a few days ago, october 29thLeisaP said:Just curious
have you already received AOR and done your police checks?
OO okay.WantToBeInCanada said:I received the AOR from the embassy a few days ago, october 29th
as for the police records i sent all that with the application
Since i am from el salvador i was told to send all that information with the application since the very beggining
I applied for a visa before and AOR and got it denied. It´s true that you need to have an anchor to your country but also based on dual intent you have the right to apply for one. Dual intent says "“An intention by a foreign national to become a permanent resident does not preclude them from becoming a temporary resident if the officer is satisfied that they will leave Canada by the end of the period authorized for their stay.”WantToBeInCanada said:Jeduardo i've been told that in order to apply for a visa you need an anchor to your country

Ohh i see, now i have a better idea about the TRV applicationEduram said:I applied for a visa before and AOR and got it denied. An application for Temporary Status may be scrutinized more closely when a Permanent Resident application is under review, as there is an obvious intention to settle in Canada permanently. If the individual's ties elsewhere can be demonstrated, however, an application for Temporary Status should succeed
Also it establishes that your PR application wont be affected by the result, either positive or negative, of the TR Visa process.
The reason my TRV was refused was because my emotional ties in Canada were strong and the official wasn´t satisfied that I would leave if my PR application got denied. I think it would be harder for spouses to get a TRV while applying for PR but it depends on how strong a case you present.
My AOR said that the average time is 6 monthsLeisaP said:OO okay.
Thats great!!, I have a bunch of friends from El Salvador in my hometown! Your food is delicious!! lol
but thats good than!, at least you dont have to wait for the police checks. Im not really sure what the process even is for El Salvador nationals going through Mexico. Did they give you an average processing time on your AOR?
But As far as I know even if you applied for a visitor visa and got denied that shouldnt effect your application processing.
Oh okay thats great,WantToBeInCanada said:My AOR said that the average time is 6 months
So i suppose that i am in the middle because my file was transferred 3 months ago
and about the food thats true lol![]()
