when did you send your email?

Make sure you put the applicant´s email address too!!

One time I put all my husband´s info but whenever I tried to send it with his email address I would get an error message. So I just out my email address with his info and they wouldn´t answer it because it wasn´t his email address!!

i think you will get an answer on august 10th!.
my last one was exactly 2 weeks. including the weekends.

uggg just found out that my lawyer didnt pay the full fee's when they submitted the application ! Between this and the medicals we are going to be delayed at least a few months. Hiring a lawyer was the worst move I ever made ! We have released them of thier duties and are going to finish the process on our own, so frusturating not to mention extremely costly !!!

Absolutely !!! I know more from the forum then from them. And the amount of mistakes that have been made are unbelievable, not to mention this lawyer is chair for the CBSA Immigration board, you would think he knows his stuff !!! Between this and my divorce I have an utter distaste and hate for lawyers in general !!

hes chair for cbsa!. thats crazy and gives me no faith in CBSA. if they have people that dont really know what they are talking about.
i dont blame you. i wouldnt trust a lawyer anymore after all that hassle.

well at least now you dont have him anymore. and maybe things will go more smoothly with the advice of people on the forum.

It seems that in this day and age with Google and the internet at our disposal, it seems more practical to not utilize a lawyer for many issues that can be researched on our own. But because they tend to want to make money off of the general public, many of them will employ scare tactics so that people will not pursue issues on their own. With that said, there are some very good lawyers out there that charge a fair price and also acknowledge that they do not know everything.

This is true, the lawyers I use to work for were amazing. And I think this guy is fine for doing LMO's and corporate immigration but no so much on the sponsorship. We were scared in the beginning because he was deported and figured that would make things more complicated (this is before we did an research), so at the time it seemed to be a wise decision. I will hire them again if there are complications I cannnot deal with, but otherwise, I can handle the rest on my own with confidence and google and this forum :)

Another thought is that since every country has so many different intricacies in terms of required documentation and the processes to obtain these documents, it probably is impossible for lawyers to know every country. I think that most of the immigration lawyers are probably generalists in terms of countries that they handle. It would be nice to have a lawyer that specializes in immigration for specific regions or countries. But there probably would not be enough work for them to sustain themselves if they specialize on a region or country. Just food for thought....

After im done my legal studies. Im going to take an Immigration consultant program. to get certified as an immigration consultant(another reason why i spend so much time on this forum learning things :P )
And I plan to focus on mexico, and latin america with spousal sponsorships, but also bringing over skilled nurses to work as caregivers and gain permanent residence this way. i grew up with two disabled brothers so we had live in caregivers from the phillipines since i was a baby. my mom has helped 10 nurses gain permanent residence in canada through this program. and now she has her own business helping phillipines nationals come to canada as caregivers.

ANYWAYS my point is, I plan to specifically deal with mexico and latin america, so i will be specialized to those countries!! :D
im hoping this will help me to know the procedures inside and out. and be able to actually help people without causing mistakes and delays!

;)
