Thank you good ideas! the RCMP will only mail me a copy of their form and they will not courier anything. So I have to wait to receive it from Ottawa and then I have to courier it to my husband in Mexico and have him courier it back to me so I can send it to Ottawa. I called the RCMP also to confirm about the 120 days and they said it would take at least this long.

Good idea about the FBI doc I will call them back to see if they will except it. And edgarsitow if you see this please let me know if you brought the form with you or how you went about doing this. I will PM you!

I replied to your PM, check your inbox :)

Hey!. maybe someone here can help me with this.

I am in mexico as a tourist and i want to go to a language school to make my spanish better.
im wondering, can i take a spanish course on a tourist visa.
or do i need to get a student visa??

i know in canada you can take part time courses or anything 6 weeks or less, without having to get a student visa. but im not sure really how it works here in mexico ...

also. if i cant take a course as a tourist, is there anyway i can change my tourist visa to a student visa from inside mexico.. if so.. how?

thanks!! :)

I´m pretty sure you can take spanish courses with a tourist visa...

There is a way to change your tourist visa to a student visa from within mexico...it takes about a month though...You would have to go to the Instituto Nacional de Migracion and ask them about what papers they need (I think what you need is a letter from the school, proof of funds, proof of address, and fill out a form on the website.) I think there is a fee too, because you are changing it from within mexico.

but I am pretty sure you won´t need to do that. :P

so apparently i dont know how to send a case specific enquiry!!.
can someone please help me!!

i email a case specific enquiry from the website to the mexico vo. to find out if our application has arrived there.
and they sent me back an email saying they cant give me any information because im not the applicant. even though i am the sponsor.

so now i have to send them another case specific enquiry using the applicants information and wait another 2 weeks to get an answer???

what a pain in the ass!!. >:(

if i email again and use the applicants information
do i need to print off the form and have him sign it or is that just for anyone thats not the applicant?

:o I'm sure you were doing it right. You just need to put his info the Enquirer Identification field so it shows it's the applicant making the request. I didn't know the Sponsor couldn't make requests on the application?? Good to know!

You;re using this link right?

https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/cicemail/intro-eng.aspx?mission=mexico

I don't think there is an option to print and sign.. you just submit.

yeah me neither..
i am sponsoring him, i should be able to get the information too. that would only make sense.
plus now i sent another one with his info in the enquirer.. and how do they know its him. hes my husband obviously im going to know his name and email address anyways. just doesnt make any sense. and of couse another waste of time on our end. :(

and yes im using that link. they said i need to print sign and scan a "use of representative" form. if i want information and im not the applicant.
its that form that goes with the application if your using a lawyer or something..

really ridiculous!!. anyways i sent another one. so here we go again another 2 weeks waiting for a reply :(

P.S
last time i sent the email. it said expect 20 working days. and now it says expect 28 working days for a reply.
so looks like they are a little busy at the VO.

Where do you see this info. I submitted a case inquiry to update my husband's address. I don't see it on the confirmation e-mail...

it wasnt in the confirmation
right after you hit submit. it brings you to another page that says .. this is what it said this time when i sent it. comes up on the website,

Case Specific Enquiry

Your enquiry has been sent to the visa office processing your application. You should receive a reply within 28 working days (by email, regular mail or fax).

If your application is within normal processing times you may not receive a reply from the visa office.

If your message contains new information for your application (e.g. adding a newborn or change of address) your file will be updated but the visa office may not respond to your email.
