you can always apply for a multiple entry, thats what we did and it was such a good investment!!

That's a good idea.. hopefully that works! :)

The embassy really made me think they werent going to give us one.. they requested additional documents and I remember waiting a month and a half for the visa! I was going crazy! lol.

Well we have nothing but time now.. haha

Yeah thats what I mean, and thats why I think its worth it. The worst that can really happen is they say no and you and your husband go back to what your you were already doing! But if they approve it, it can change a lot :)

Also, I got my SO's UCI number from when we submitted his application for his visa.. When do you all think I will start being able to see his file on CIC?
When they start processing the sponsorship application. About a week or so before approval.

Yes.. Same for me.. I remember when it was 45 Days.. now it's taking forever. It says 90 days, but the date that it says they are working on.. is more than 90 days from the day they updated it.. I just hope they are trying to get the processing times back down.

Yes it is a blessing your spouse is in Canada. But I'm sure it's equally as frustrating. My husband is still in Mexico. Has anyone's spouses applied for a visitor visa for Canada while the app is being processed? I feel like if he tells them his wife is in Canada.. That doesn't give him a reason to return to Mexico :) And that seems to be what they look at the most when issuing a visa. He has never been to Canada.. and I'm getting tired of travelling to Mexico and the long wait times in between :(
95% get denied from what I hear. You could try but you'll lose the fee. We tried but my husband isn't in Mexico so we had no chance but I found this forum too late. When we applied I thought we would get it for sure and be in Canada in April! Ha! The officer called and told us to withdraw the app because a denial is a red flag.

No he can't work which is the part that really sucks and the reason we were considering going back to mexico and waiting it out there.. I have faith once our file gets to Mexico City it will go through fast, but if not we will go back to Mexico and wait it out there I think, we have to see when the time comes.

We did our visa application loong before we ever applied for PR. People said we were never going to get it and we did, so I say go for it - even if he cant work.. the amount of money you save not having to travel back and forth is worth it. If you cant live in Mexico while your waiting our your hubby's PR, its worth it to apply, in my opinion.
You probably got it because there was no PR application in process and if I remember correctly you are not married. It is nearly impossible to get with a PR application. Although the officer said it would help if we had already gotten approved.

Wow! Good to know!

My App was received on March 29/12.. I may have updated my profile wrong :) I don't remember the day I sent it, but the 29th is when the tracking # shows it was delivered.

No worries, I will change it to show that was the date received :)

Hey guys! Sorry I have been absent from the board for a while. We have been dealing with an additional layer of events. So, we sent my hubby's brother to the SSP for the Antecedentes no Penales in Mexico City as per the request in the letter. When he went, they told him that there are people with his same name as my hubby so it will take 10 additional days to process the Antecedentes no Penales. In fact, after 10 days, he has to go to another location to pick it up. The frustrating part is that we have to get yet another original carta de poder (power of attorney) and send it down to Mexico so that his brother can take it to the other agency! This process is becoming very expensive! Also, I am not sure if the 10 days are business days or actual days. Does anyone know?

Hey Edgar, I wanted to add you to the sheet as well, but I am not sure how to get your timeline in there ... maybe we could enter dates since the appeal, let me know what you think :)
