Actually my husband is from Mexico City originally but he is in Playa del Carmen now.. I'm just outside of Toronto actually just north of Toronto. Where are the Mexican specialty shops that you know of? Would love to know them.

We wanted to do a visitor visa but we were told it wouldn't be granted due to the nature of our relationship and were advised it would be best to stay in our countries until the paperwork was processed. Its been tough L

Haha yes he sounds like a catch! I find they are have great family values and culture and they sure LOVE their women! J yay for us marrying a Mexican guy is truly life changing in an amazing way!!!

How has your husband found the job situation in Playa del Carmen ? Was it easy for him to settle ? My Fiance is thinking of moving there in September from GDL but its an unknown territory for both of us so any info you have would be great !

Canadagirl - what date was your sponsorship approved ? I have added the receipt of AOR and the file transfer date

TsauretBaxter - what day was your packaged received after it was sent ?

Alesinha - what day was your packaged received after it was sent ? And what was your sponsorship approval date

If everyone can have a look at make sure I have the correct info for you :)

THANKS so much!!

OK! I think it's on that spreadsheet, but here it is off the top of my head:

App received in Mississauga: Sept 30
Meds Done: Sept 5
Sponsorship approved: December 7th ish
AOR: January 26 (although our file on eCas said Feb 8th)
Police Certificated submitted: March 26th
RPRF requested April 19th
PPR June 6th
We have tickets already to land June 29th
:D

Did you have to do an interview ? If so what was the date so I can add to the spreadsheet. I am not sure what RPRF is ::)

If it isn't too much trouble, could you add Mexico City AOR to the spreadsheet?

There is a mistake on my spreadsheet times. For when it was transfered to consulate it says Jan 23. 2012 but it was transfered jan 31st 2012 :D

BEFORE the AOR! Interesting. I guess there isn't much consistency to rely on!

Has anyone else noticed that Step 2, for persons applying outside of Canada, on the CIC website was due to be updated at the end of April.. and still hasn't!! >:(

Hi!

I received the approval on January 24th and the letter asking for antecedentes feb 24th... Btw I have got good news from the embassy they gave me 10 extra days to present my constancia de antecedentes no pen ales, but I am confused now! What is the one that the ssp in Mexico gives?? Is it the same that the one from pgr??? Oh I'm getting crazy please help!

Hey there, missmymexi - if you are having the Embassy of Canada in Mexico get it for you, you don't need the birth certificate ;)

See http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/outside-mexico.asp

BTW, I enjoyed learning more about your story in the working ... thread :) It will hopefully help many people (like the OP of that thread)!

Hi there,

Due to the situation I am going through and because they lost my paper I only have 10 natural days to deliver both of these docs... Do you know if it is faster to get the federal one in Mexico city?... As well, I want to know if the paper the ssp gives you in Mexico city is the same that the one I can get in queretaro??

Please help any info is welcome! I only have 10 days! OMG! :o

The SSP and the PGR are different! SSP is more like the state ones and isn´t so detailed so they probably mean the PGR!

I think it´s faster to get the PGR in the state offices, took us only 6 days in Veracruz, whereas in Mexico city it takes 10 days!

If you are in Mexico City I would go get the SSP one too and hand them in together! The SSP only takes like 5 minutes to get and all you need is copy of IFE and copy of birth certificate!

Good luck!

Edit:

Hmmm it appears the forum isn't letting me quote messages =S It gives me that error number, perhaps CIC is seizing my Internet connection for badmouthing them? LOL

Anyway missmymexi asked me:
Hey Edgar, I wanted to add you to the sheet as well, but I am not sure how to get your timeline in there ... maybe we could enter dates since the appeal, let me know what you think :)
----------------------------

my answer:

That's a very good question :P I have no idea how we should do it. If you want to add my information After my appeal then I'll provide you with the dates I have:

from eCas:
We received your application for permanent residence on February 27, 2012.

We started processing your application on April 4, 2012.

Medical results have been received.
-----------------
My appeal was on January 9, 2012

Email requesting Medicals, police certificates and updated forms: April 26, 2012

Meds done: April 30, 2012

does that help? :)
