For the newer members here...Chrillan said:Yes it looks like we are in the same situation. It's good to have company and yes I think you are right, lets stay positive - yesterday was a hard day but today was great - seeing these PPR's makes me happy for everyone... ours will come.
By the way, does your "application received" show that they have received your Medicals? That just goes to prove it's only the updating of the Ecas that is behind because my status "application received" doesn't show they received my husbands medicals but they have emailed me (on September 25th) and told me they have it with his file... ;D
This comment highlights the fact that unfortunately ECAS is not a reliable method to track the progress of your application... also, in tinyaries' case, as an example, she now has her PPR which indicates a Decision Made (DM) but ECAS still doesn't reflect that. My guess is it'll change by the time they get the passport back with visa and COPR.
The best proof of how your application may be progressing is the direct email communication from the VO and GMCS notes. After AOR2 no communication is likely a good sign. It means everything is moving along and they aren't looking for additional info. It's just normally going through the various stages of Eligibility review, Medicals review, Security and Criminality checks.
These latest 4 PPRs are a good indication of a normal timeline for what CIC considers a "routine" application... 8-9 months from application rec'd to PPR...very straightforward, applicant and spouse roughly the same age, no children?, lots of good evidence of relationship, a well prepared, detailed application, no additional documentation required, no medical issues, no criminal or security issues, etc.
In my own case, our application is likely, at least now, non-routine. We have a large age difference which makes passing eligibility more difficult (though I do think we are now beyond that). In hindsight, in light of the fact that they asked us for more documentation, we didn't complete Schedule A question 8 (Activity) in sufficient detail. They wanted more information about the timeframes of a long motorcycle trip we took (10 months) to ensure my wife had not been in any one country for more than 6 months which would have required a criminal record check from that country. We HAD provided a photocopy of every page of our passports so they could see the dates we entered/exited the various countries, but that apparently was not good enough. We also obviously didn't provide them with enough evidence of MY intent to re-establish back in Canada. In our minds it was clear that we were/are truly going to re-establish, but we didn't make it clear enough for the officer, thus the request for more proof.
So, we are now, as of today, exactly 10 months into the process, with people who applied more than 2 months after us already receiving PPRs. And understandably so, they probably had more complete and routine applications. And we are very happy for them! I expect we could be another 2 or 3 months yet... as every document request results in further delay of processing as they put a new BFD (bring forward date) on the application. I suspect they are doing criminality and security checks now. the GMCS notes should reveal that in a few weeks.
We'll see how it all works out! ???
