Thanks CANzanillo for everything you're doing with the timeline, I have (yet another) suggestion, I'll probably stop soon :)
I was thinking that after passport request date you could have a passport sent or a passport received by visa office column, because some people send the passport the next say while others have to wait a week or so before sending it and that it's more indicative of a timeline when you actually know how long they're taking to get it back to you.
You are welcome! I appreciate the input into the spreadsheet. I like the idea and have also considered it. I will add the necessary columns! Thanks!

After 3 months of not receiving news from the MCVO I think I would be making an inquiry. The timelines in the spreadsheet indicate approximately 2 months from SA to AOR2.

If you would like to track your application timeline along with the rest of us, please include your data in the Mexico spreadsheet.

Hopefully you receive news soon!

Hi all, I am a Mexican married to a Canadian and a permanent resident of the US. I am part way through the process of applying for permanent residence in Canada, and the CIC has just requested via email that I provide them with Police Clearance (in my case Mexican PGR). I am slightly lost, but hopefully some of you will be able to provide me with some guidance.

As I say, I have received the email request from the CIC, and since I am in the US, I know I need to send my fingerprints etc., to the Canadian Embassy in Mexico--so that they can forward them to the PGR and request from them a "Constancia de Datos Registrales" on my behalf. Reading information on the PGR webpage, it appears that the PGR also need some kind of letter from the Embassy--but it's not clear to me what this letter consists of. Is it a letter that the Embassy would write, perhaps just requesting that the PGR undertake a background check on me? Or might it be a copy of the email letter (which is in English) that the CIC has sent me, telling me to get the PGR Police Clearance? If the former, would the Embassy provide this letter directly to the PGR? Do I need to contact the Embassy in Mexico City first, or just send them (via courier) my documents?

Finally, the CIC webpage about requesting the Mexican Police Clearance provides no address for the Embassy in Mexico City that I am supposed to send the materials to. Does anyone know if the correct office (Embassy) is the one at Schiller 529 in Mexico City?

Thanks very much to all of you for your interest and any help!!

I am not sure if they require an actual letter or not. We printed the email sent to us from our visa office requesting the PCC and included that with the rest of documents. As for the address, it used to be the one at Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra 193, but that address has now been taken off the website. They have been making changes to this process without informing people so beware. Maybe email the embassy to confirm? I think you should also be aware of the latest 'news' about the process of obtaining a PCC from outside Mexico via the Canadian Embassy. See my post on page 745 of this thread. Good luck, because it seems we need it.

Re: MCVO Timeline Spreadsheet:

I have created formatting so that when you enter a critical date your row color will change automatically. It appears to work correctly in testing... THEREFORE, if you do not enter critical timeline dates your color coding will stay in the previous stage color!

I am working on setting up protection for cell formulas so that they can't be overwritten. Please bear with me as I get this set up. In the meantime please be careful to enter the correct data in the correct cell.

I added a new Green Color Coding for Passport Received with COPR stage.

Good Day to all!

Thank you very much MissRepresentation!! Uff, reading your post on page 745 makes me wonder if doing it in person in Mexico would not be faster. The PGR web page indicates they have a result in 10 days, so I am wondering why is that the transaction via the Embassy can take months. Good luck to you too!

If you or your partner are Mexican, then yes, it's surely faster to do it in person. In our case I don't even think that's possible, as I'm not Mexican and the PGR site says that foreigners who want to get that PCC in person must have an FM2 or FM3 (which I obviously don't have as I don't work there anymore!). It's a pain in the *ss.

So given that Dominican Republic is now being processed in Mexico I figured I'd check out this thread. I'm trying to understand timelines in Mexico. I realized its stated as 18 months versus DR's 14 months, but I'm wondering has any Mexico applicants noticed a trend of timelines particularly with Spousal Sponsorships. Like is it an average of so many months? a year...closer to 18 months?? I guess I'm trying to realistically give myself an idea of when my husband can actually join me in Canada. When application were being done In Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic I would see anywhere from 6 to 9 months as a strong average. I felt good about that... now I feel like Mexico will put us closer to a year or more from start to finish. Any thoughts?
We started our process in March.
2worlds1love; I am personally hoping that our "uncomplicated" application will be completed in 8 months. We believe we submitted a complete and strong application. But you never know. I don't want to get my expectations too high but it's hard not too when you see other applicants receiving approvals after 6 months...

We'd love to include you in our timeline spreadsheet. I can enter your data or you can also enter the data in the bottom section and then I will put it into place in the spreadsheet. Best wishes for a quick and successful processing!

Husband picked up passport today! Buying tickets now! I've heard people saying that you need to make a list of what you're bringing, I'd this true? He's only bringing clothes, shoes and paperwork. Maybe currency greater than 10000 if he manages to sell his car. is there a guide for this somewhere?
Oh, and someone told me the notes are from the day you ask for them but we got ours on May 14 and the last note was from the day before saying they had sent husband's passport to the mail out room. I recommend everyone get their notes at the end of the process, it's cool to see what the officers think about your relationship.
