I added my info to the Mexico spreadsheet.

I don't understand why we were told from the Mexican office when we emailed them that our file is in transit when people who applied after us and received AOR after us have AOR 2 already. Its making me so nervous

Well its official. Our package is heading to Mexico. Now I'm just wondering from those of you that already have your package in Mexico. Did they send you another AOR to say it arrived?? Or do they wait until they are actually starting it? I guess I'm wondering what the next information I should hear. Any thoughts??

It will likely take a month or 2 before you hear anything from the Mexican VO. If you check out the spreadsheet or people's profile timelines you will get a general idea. They do not usually just send an AOR, it will come along with additional information requests or police requests, of course this depends on the country of the applicant.

I know it's tough and doesn't seem fair but it may be nothing to do with you. We have people a month behind us that got 2 months ahead during SA because of a CIC Mistake. And some people just get done in record time that makes no sense, while others get delayed months back for no good reason either. Don't stress about it, you just have to wait your turn... Even though they may put people in front of you :)

2worlds1love;

They will send you another AOR. AOR2. Which is essentially when they begin to work the file. I see you have added yourself to the spreadsheet! Thank you. If your application is anything like mine it will sit in Mississauga until there is a sufficient size batch to send to Mexico City VO. Mine sat from March 24 until April 20, 2015 before it was sent to MCVO. You can call CIC to request the date that the application was actually sent.

Wish you a speedy and successful application.

I would like to know the same.. I got SA today but apparently this is going to take more than expected. Why do they take so long to send the applications to Mexico? Do they send them right away or every other month? Just wondering... It's not the same with others VOs...

Congratulations on your SA! I updated your timeline in the spreadsheet

Generally people use the date of the SA as the date of the file transfer. It is possible that it gets sent immediately but much more likely that it stays in Mississauga until a batch of applications accumulates, then is forwarded to the MCVO. Mine stayed 4 weeks in Mississauga before being sent. You can confirm the date via a phone call to CIC 613-944-4000. Work your way through the phone system menu until you get to the address change option then dial 0 to speak to an agent. I believe it's 1-1-1-1-2-0. Answer the security questions they ask you then fire away...nicely ;)

If I were you I'd call CPC Miss and request the exact date that the file was transferred, then at least you will have some ammunition to talk to MCVO again. In the worst case your file would have been sent with mine that went out on April 20th 2015. It has to be in one of the 2 offices...

Does anyone know who is "unspecified" and the related timeline in the lower section of the spreadsheet? Perhaps someone was testing data entry.

If nobody knows then I will remove it.

TX!

Hello, how do you know when you app is in Mexico? How can I know about it?

nprendiz;

There are only 2 ways to know;

#1 is to call CIC Canada to ask for the specific file transfer date. My assumption is that a batch of applications is couriered to the MC Visa Office and that should take no more than one week to arrive in MCVO.

#2 You will likely receive AOR2 - Acknowledgement of Receipt email/letter from MCVO.

Based on timelines in the spreadsheet, some applicants have been receiving AOR2 approx. 2 months after SA. In my case I received SA on March 24th. The file did not transfer until April 20th. One month has now passed since the actual file transfer. Though I could theoretically receive AOR2 at any time, I am allowing another full month until approx June 20th before I break out my worry beads! :-[

Good Luck!

I personally do not know its there. I just know that its going to be heading there. Someone said earlier on this forum that it could sit in Missisauga for a month before heading out. Apparently there's a number you can call to ask. I'm not going to worry about it yet. I feel like if I call right away they won't give me any answers, but if I wait a bit major they will actually be able to tell me when it was officially sent to Mexico.

If you see mine, it took 2 months and 2 days, from SA and transfer to AOR from Mexico VO. But once they start, things can move along quickly and many people are getting finished within a few months of AOR from the Mexican VO, so hang in there everyone, you're probably nearly half way there!
