Please save yourself a DHL headache and use FedEx. Apparently DHL employees don't know what they're doing, as a result my husbands passport is all ready to go but is still at the visa office bc DHL didn't put the account number on the airway bill. I sent them the number but the tracking number still hasn't been activated yet.ElleElle74 said:He's in! Congratulations.
If you get an account with FedEX, that's the easiest way. The account number is linked to your credit card and won't be charged unless the account is used. Just fill out the return waybill addressed to yourself from the Embassy. Keep a copy of it, so you can have the tracking number and will be able to check when it has been sent (Another thing to obsess over. I had decided not to check it and bam! the FedEX guy was at my door.)
Good luck!
Going online just wasn't an option for us. I'm in Canada right now and my husband is computer illiterate, also he lives in a super rural area that DHL doesn't deliver to so I'm not sure what we would have put as a return address. I figured it should be no problem, hubby will just go in to the nearest office (about 4 hours to get there) and get them to do it for him. We paid about $170 for the return trip. They told us it would arrive at the VO in 2 days...it took 7. And now the sending has been delayed because of the missing account number. The most important package of our life! I'm so upset and just praying that it gets back to us.
