Yes, I received the notes today. 70 pages of mostly useless information. Medical is approved, security in progress and eligibility not yet started. Nothing unusual in the comments. Were your notes more useful?
Same thing for us - medical passed, criminal and security in progress, eligibility not started. Comments just say that neither of us have been married before, no children, when we first met and when we got married. The notes state that the last activity on our file was on January 6th of this year. Also, notes said Mississauga shredded our Facebook messages to each other and the phone bills over the years showing calls made to each other, which I'm a bit peeved about since I spent months gathering that stuff.

When was the last time your file had any activity?

I'm not sure under Client details it says it was updated on March 17, 2015 but it's unclear what was updated. Where else would I look? The eligibility due date is August 2015 so I'm assuming they have to have it done by then, but hopefully it doesn't take that long!!!

AVOID sending anything through Canada Post to the Mexico City VO - it's *very* unreliable. If you're lucky your mail may be delivered in 2-3 weeks (as happened when we sent my RCMP criminal record check) but if you're not, you could be waiting months.
Who in their senses would send important documents through normal mail?

Important documents OUGHT TO BE sent by courier.

Congratulations to you. A quick question. You sent in your PGR on March 10, 2015? Is that correct?
No, Jamo. My inlaws sent it on the 27 or 28 March. They got it on the 30th. That's why we're shocked. It's only been 2 weeks!

You can just scan it, very clearly, and send it by email to them...but you need to get your original translation from them, which has the signature of the perito and a legend certifying his name and saying he is authorized by the tribunal.
I can give you contact information of the person that helped me out.....I was very satisfied with their service.
They also translated my husbands birth certificate in order to get married in mexico city.
hello ;D

could you please share the contact information of the person that helped you out with the documents translation?

We used them, too. No specific person. 250 pesos to translate PGR certificate and turnaround time was fast.

Playa08, I hope you get some action very soon on your file! I have a question for you. I am curious if the eligibility due date of August 2015 coincides roughly with the one year anniversary of your medicals. I have heard that the VO "tries" to make a decision on a file before the meds expire and then gives the applicant a landing date that coincides with the one year expiry of medicals. Just trying to see if that hypothesis has merit. Wish you a successful application. BTW, feel free to include your info in the Mexico Time Line Spreadsheet, or I can enter it for you... Take care!

Well, sorry if you felt that way, but it is the truth.

Important documents must never ever be sent through a service that you can't hold responsible for or won't give priority treatment to them. Your whole future depends on those documents arriving prompt and safe, so there is no room for doubt, courier + insurance + signature on arrival, anything less is gambling with something that you shouldn't be gambling with.

Hi,

Thanks:) No my spouse never did his medical until November. I think the August date is when our file was received in Mexico City, August 2014.
I'll enter my info. Cheers :) Good luck to you as well.

I just checked the notes I received last month. I also have an eligibility due date for August. It is exactly one year from the date we received SA, and the eligibility assessment says the last time it was updated was August of 2014.

Also, my medicals expired in April so this has nothing to do with medicals.

Btw Playa08, for our file, at the "notes" section at the bottom, the date of last activity on the file coincides with the most recent of the entries in the "notes" section and the comments written in that entry say: "Docs reviewd. File passed FOR". Near the top, under "Paper file", the location actually has an officer's name along with the officer's identifier. Right below that under a section called "Application Assignment", the fields state which officer got assigned our file and which officer assigned it to him/her. So it looks to me like the file got transferred from one officer to another.

Important documents OUGHT TO BE sent by courier.
Someone who is not aware that the mail service in Mexico cannot be trusted. Our lawyer's assistant sent out my fingerprints for the PGR through Canada Post's registered mail under the assumption that it would be similar to a courier service and we weren't aware that she used Canada Post until after I received the email from the Mexico City VO asking about the airway bill.

Many people in Canada send important documents by registered mail as it's very reliable, fast, and you get tracking information, so it was a reasonable assumption to make. My error was in assuming she would know better.
