Hey all! Just popping in to say that hubby landed on 2 July. We drove up to Niagara Falls to do it, stayed for the weekend and drove back home. I have to add here for anyone else thinking about landing at Rainbow Bridge - DON'T DO IT! We waited in immigration for 7 freaking HOURS >:( There were...

He's in! Congratulations. If you get an account with FedEX, that's the easiest way. The account number is linked to your credit card and won't be charged unless the account is used. Just fill out the return waybill addressed to yourself from the Embassy. Keep a copy of it, so you can have the...

I just sent the waybill (from the US) without the envelope. We got my husband's passport back today (9 days total). If you send the FedEX envelope it may be a waste because they sent back at least half of the application and there's no way it would have fit into the envelope. They sent it back...

elan.com.mx We used them, too. No specific person. 250 pesos to translate PGR certificate and turnaround time was fast.

Thanks for the congrats, guys. Now we can really make some plans. No, Jamo. My inlaws sent it on the 27 or 28 March. They got it on the 30th. That's why we're shocked. It's only been 2 weeks!

    CoPR Copy at landing

I've seen many forum members have their documents couriered to them from Canada or the US to their home country. Maybe you could look into that...

    Are there landing restrictions?

Fantastic! We haven't received PPR or anything but we were thinking of crossing by land and spending the weekend (Sat-Mon) in Niagara Falls. Now I know we better go on a Friday to get an agent. Thanks! Edit: Reading is truly fundamental. Sheesh. I just saw office hours, but when I scrolled down...

Going to Canada this year but wife is expecting child in 2016 help ...

Don't stress too much. The citizensip certificate isn't too complicated a process. I had to do it for my daughter born in the US. You will need the child's birth certificate plus photos. I waited until my kid was 6 months to do it and it came in 2 months or so...

Fabi, I would love that contact info, please! CANzanillo, great work on the spreadsheet. I'll update my section as I go along... Also, an FYI... I contacted the Immigration Section to see if my mom-in-law could drop off the PGR certificate. They said they don't permit walkins and will only...

Jamo (or anyone else that translated their PGR certificate), where did you get it done? In Mexico, Canada, US? My mom-in-law is going to pick it up next week and I was thinking to have her FedEx it to me so I can send it to the same translator I used for our other documents, but that's like a...

They didn't ask us for one. He was given 6 months as a visitor, but stayed 10 or 11 months (effectively living in Canada). He doesn't need an ARC because he was only excluded for 1 year (he could have returned to Canada in 2005, provided he repaid the removal cost) and not deported.

Good luck to you, too! It seems we have similar timelines, so maybe this will all be over by the summer. I'm sending good vibes to everyone waiting...

Fairly painless. My husband said it took about 30 minutes. It took more time to travel to and from... They only asked him questions like our ages, how we met, how many people at our wedding, pretty harmless things. He was removed from Canada in 2004 (he had a 1-year exclusion) and they didn't...

    Very low income worries

I'm the Canadian sponsoring my husband and I have 0 income. I've been a stay-at-home mom for the past 2 years and before that worked very sporadically (not even amounting to $1000/year). I didn't send an Option C since I haven't been employed by a Canadian company since 2009 or paid taxes since...

@OhCanadiana Thanks for the tips you gave me before. My brother-in-law (he lives in the Condesa) is going to go by the Embassy to see if they still have a dropbox. Also, I'm going to send the FedEX prepaid waybill with the medical form and repayment cheque. They haven't asked for his passport...

Those prices are crazy! He's back already, but left a power of attorney letter with his parents so they can pick up the PGR check. Is it possible to drop it off at the Embassy? I can only find their mailing information... I was going to ask them to mail it, but if the Embassy has a drop box...
