Thanks everyone!

My brain isn't working due to lack of sleep. I can't think of all the things my husband needs to do now. So far I have bank account, SIN, OHIP (medical) and license.

What else is there?

I think you've got it. Only thing I'd add is scan his CoPR so you have a copy just in case. Once he gets his PR card, put the CoPR in the safe deposit box.

And go celebrate!!! Have fun :) Go to parks, lakes, have beaver tails, take pictures.

Then catch up on sleep and have some more fun as you settle in.

1.- Go to Tim Horton's for a double double and a bagel with herbs and garlic cream cheese.
2.- Have him try some Poutine.
3.- Take him to a CFL game and start teaching him about hockey.

Hi everyone! Landing was very easy. We got off the plane in YYZ, walked forever and gave the card we filled out on the plane to a very friendly guy who then sent us to immigration to a very nice lady who said "yay!!" with me when I told her my husband was landing. That was quite fast. She verified the Canadian address, had my husband sign the COPR, stapled it in the passport and said welcome to Canada after taking about a couple things like residential requirements. Then we got our luggage and customs would have waved us through without looking at our B4 but then realized we had a cat and sent us to a room with two pretty unfriendly agents but after a few minutes we were out the door. We are all exhausted! But I'm glad it's over. Whew!

Awesome! Congratulations!!! :D

Does anyone know.
do you think the visa office did anything else with our file before sending the request for the new medical
like look at the relationship evidence or started some of the background checks or anything?

or do you think they had our file for 4 months and didnt do anything else with it except for the medical? :(

Hello everyone! I thought it might be good to let you know that the office where the "carta de antecedentes no penales" is issued in Mexico City, has changed. It is now issued on Calzada de Tlalpan, next to Televisa Radio. I don´t know if anyone has posted this infor before, but just in case...

Oh definitely they've been working on it. You're just unlucky to not get an AOR. You might get one later.

Alright so here is something else I learned today on my mission to get this RCMP check

The company we are using would only ship the form to my husband with Purolator or Fedex they wouldn’t let me do my own courier so I told them to use Purolator as I assumed they would be the same..

But apparently Purolator doesn’t service Mexico and they give your shipment to UPS and charge you more. I learned this after the Purolator woman told me to track my Purolator shipment on the UPS website for more up to date details vs their own Purolator site. So under “reference #” vs tracking number on UPS’s site I was able to track my shipment..

The cost to send 1 document with Purolator was $117 and it would have been $95 with UPS. I’m disapointed I had to pay extra for the exact same service. The worst part is that if I had picked Fed Ex it would have been $75!! $42 difference is pretty big! I wish I had taken the time to look into it before I shipped but I was just so focused on getting it out ASAP.

Anyways just wanted to share for anyone else who may be shipping out and also am wondering if anyone else has any experience with shipping out of Canada to Mexico and which was is cheapest?
