Congrats again!! Glad to see good news in the Mexico thread. I got an AOR from Mexico pretty fast and that helps. I'm starting to go nuts again though. I finally gave in and emailed them but they'll probably just delete it, LOL.

Did you by any chance get a response from them via email ??

we emailed them last week to see if they received our application since it was suppose to be sent in mid april
but we havent heard anything and they didnt respond to our email either.

Well I only emailed today. I don't think they respond to "How is my application going?" emails. I have gotten responses from them for other stuff though. I wish they would communicate more. It is not cool that you haven't gotten an AOR yet.

Oh so it takes about 2 and a half months to receive the AOR from mexico city!

because ours was mailed to them in middle of april and i havent heard anything from them so i was started to get a little worried!
But now i feel a bit of releif that im not the only one that is taking forever to get AOR letter.

also hearing that they moved locations might cause a couple days or a week delay too.

so now im hoping we get an AOR in the next week or 2!!

I don't think they are consistent. I think people get AOR after processing is under way and before processing. Since I got it a couple weeks after approval, I think they are not processing me yet. But those who wait 2.5 months definitely have processing going on before the AOR. So I wouldn't worry, they are working. It is awful that it can take 1.5 months to get the letter in the mail. I mean that is seriously slow. They should send it DHL or something.

You will get AOR soon and then it will be really fast after that.

Everything seems to be so inconsistent!! Just hope for the best I guess. I'm hoping with Step 1 taking so long in Canada.. Step 2 may go a bit faster!!

Ya but in the end it is pretty consistent as far as processing times with straight forward cases. I would seriously pay for more communication though.

Yeah they are inconsistent, everyone seems to get it differently.
but i hope your right! maybe they just take along time. they are sending all our mail to my parents place in alberta. so this could be why a little bit of delay but still. use dhl or fed ex, not mexpost (everyone knows thats not reliable)
maybe it depends on the officer working on the case whether he feels like mailing stuff right away or taking his sweet time.

anyways that cheered me up! im hopeing once we get AOR everything will move quickly! thanks!

Cant wait to see how fast you guys get processed in Mexico, I am praying for a six month turn around time ! I would love to have my fiance back here by January, that will be 1 year and 6 months apart, seriously dont want to wait any longer than that !! So fingers crossed you all go flying through and the rest of us are close behind, alot of us filed our applications around the same time so it should be interesting !

Sponsorship has now been approved as of July 3-12!! I have logged on to CAS. It just says the app has been received. Give it a couple more days?? Also, my husband has since moved, and needs to change his address. Will I be able to do that on CAS?

I will update the spreadsheet for you this evening !

I just realized that when i log into ecase with my information it has the correct mailing address.
but when i log in with my spouses, the mailing address it not fully there.

our mailing address is a ranch, so it uses a RR, site number and P.O box number.
on there it has all the correct information except the P.O box number.

I have recently changed it, but it wont show up for 15 more days.

do you think this could cause a problem, and be a reason why I havent received an AOR yet???

I don't think it is a problem. I don't think they can fit everything into their address section. Our address looks funny on my husband's ecas. It is all there but it is not formatted correctly.

I just noticed that you said your ecas has it correctly. Hmmm. Will the mail get to you without the PO Box? If you don't see in processing and didn't get an AOR I doubt they mailed you anything.

I just realized our address on DH's ecas changed. Before the zip code was split as if it was a postal code. 012 34. Now it is 01234. Gives me hope they are working on it! LOL! I am really desperate aren't I.

Unfortunately no, I am in a divorce trial and its costing everything I have so funds are more than tight, and my fiance is only making $10 a day in GDL so between the two of us not much hope there. I am crossing my fingers and praying that I can get there in September or early October if all goes well, but by that point we will be at the one year mark of not seeing eachother in person, better than no visit at all though I guess, I try not to be sad about it but its getting harder by the day...

Btw, if anyone has any better job leads in GDL please let me know, he is fluent in english (written and spoken) has admin, construction and restaurant experience

I feel your pain for the money thing

I am fortunate enough to be in mexico with my spouse while we wait.
but that being said
we have been back here since march 31. and my spouse has been looking for a job everyday sending out resumes, talking to people going to interviews. we even went to gdl for 2 weeks for a set of interviews. at different places. (he has a degree in custom broker and speaks english well too) so he went to call centers, customs agents at the airport. old bosses.banks.warehouses and there is absolutly no work it is horrible! its hard to experience mexico if you have no money and no job. the situation here is bad. and its really hard on him too hes incredibly stressed out, he paid good money for a degree that he cant even get use out of, the government said they were hiring custom brokers for all over mexico, butthe requirements are you dont need a degree in customs but you need your army clearance (so he cant get that job, it wasnt mandatory for army service when he was growing up)

its bad here for jobs. how many pesos a month is he making?
the jobs we are looking for are only paying about 5,000-7,000 per month, which is really nothing im sure you know
