Yeah you are right, the best thing we can do is ask for the new requirements. Thanks for keeping me level-headed, OhCanadiana. The Mexican Government always makes me very frusterated! haha
When it comes to government issues all we need is to be patient, it is a long road but I am sure it's worth it... I would recommend you to call the pgr in your state, even if you can go it may be even better... Trust me I asked everything just to be sure I was doing the right stuff.

Gd luck!! ;D

They run security and background checks and then .... passport request :)

Timing seems to really vary, unfortunately.

Any good news yet, Mrs. Romero?
Mrs. Romero sent a message recently saying farewell to this forum because she has been waiting so long for news about her husband's case that she just doesn't feel like sticking around, at least for now. I feel for her. Their case took a bad turn right after CIC asked for more info about his tatoo(s), and ever since it's been stuck on security checks or something like that. I don't mean to scare anyone currently worrying about tattoos, but those are the basic facts.
I wish the Romeros the best.

Just some important data, the pgr is opening new offices to do the tramit instead of going to Mexico city.. Just call your local office and ask if you can do it straight there... I did it in the office from WTO and it was really easy and quick it only took a few days to get my doc... :D
oh this is great news! There is one in my city, but I´ve been trying to find it on google maps and can´t find anything. I will call tomorrow and ask them where it is! I bet it is much faster than 10 days too :D

Usually e-mail for the passport request but keep checking your mail just in case.

ARC information is SOOOO confusing!! It gets to the point that not even CIC knows what's going on! I have nightmares at least once a week that I'm granted my PR visa and that I'm sent back at the airport because I don't have an ARC and CIC never asked me to submit one! I read the one year thing, I also read that dependents of the main refugee claimant (my dad) need not apply, so that would exclude me. I don't know anymore what's going on.

Hi Edgar,

I was just reading about the ARC, see below, you dont need to worry about it, it will be issued and billed for if one is needed, from the CIC website:

If you are applying to come to Canada for any reason, (visiting, studying, working or immigrating),you should not submit a separate application for an ARC. If your application is approved, the ARC will be dealt within the context of that application. You will simply be asked to submit the fee.

Thanks missmymexi!

Hopefully that means not having to do any extra paperwork.

My dad just sent me the Carta de antecedentes penales for Baja California, it should be here on Wednesday.

I bought the guia prepagada and went to the embassy, but they stop receiving things at noon :/ So I'll go tomorrow early in the morning (they'll open tomorrow)

I had my medicals redone today. Nothing out of the ordinary, the doctor was quite rude, but I've never met a nice one anyway. I'm sure there are some though! That Green paper he gave me is what I have to give CIC right? He was clueless and said I needed to mail it to my sponsor. Doubt that! Also, whoever invented hospital robes had no fashion sense whatsoever!

Hi Edgar,

What happened in our case with the medical was that the doctor's office sent their results to the embassy themselves after all the tests had been completed. My husband mailed me something in Canada to include in the initial application to prove they had been done, and for tracking his results I suppose, since the doctor sent his results in before they got our app.
