ARC information is SOOOO confusing!! It gets to the point that not even CIC knows what's going on! I have nightmares at least once a week that I'm granted my PR visa and that I'm sent back at the airport because I don't have an ARC and CIC never asked me to submit one! I read the one year thing, I also read that dependents of the main refugee claimant (my dad) need not apply, so that would exclude me. I don't know anymore what's going on.

Hello Margarita!

One question! How do you do that? I got my email yesterday and I live in Mexico City. Can you please tell me how do I go about sending them a prepaid envelope? Those guys in a document they sent me, they still have my Tijuana Address (I've asked them to change it 5 times!) so I don't want to wait. Do I go to DHL? or What do I need? Please help! :)

Hi Edgarcitow,

You just have to go to DHL and send a package to the embassy containing another (prepaid and addressed to you) envelope. We wrote a letter saying "as you have suggested we have enclosed a prepaid envelope to expedite the process. Please send us the official constancia request using the enclosed prepaid envelope".

It worked just fine! DHL should know how to do this we have done it many times and there has never been confusion... Suerte!

Also, Edgarsito,

Yopu should reply to the email reporting the address problem. We changed our address through the online service, the following email we received had the correct address on it, then the second email had the old address in Xalapa on it, we now live in Merida. We responded to the email reporting the address update and it seems to be fine now, they have been using our Merida address. Hopefully it won't revert back again!

Thanks Margarita!

I went right now to get my photos taken and I also went to the DHL right next to my house, they told me that I have to go the one in Polanco because they're more familiar with the process (sounds to me like she didn't want to work since it was time to close!) but anyway I'll go either tomorrow or on Monday. So I just attach a letter with my file number and UCI telling them to send me the original letter to get the Constancia de datos Registrales? Sounds simple enough!

Thanks!

ok so I am thinking about getting all the documents together for requesting the PGR, then going to the embassy and asking for the letter requesting the PGR from them, and then taking that all over to the PGR on the same day.

Is that possible? or do I have to wait for the letter in the mail?
Hi nessa! I just requested my pgr document one month ago but I had to wait for the letter because it is something you must submit with all the other documents... it took around 2 weeks to get to me... So I think it's a great idea to go and ask for it to the embassy :D instead of waiting

Just some important data, the pgr is opening new offices to do the tramit instead of going to Mexico city.. Just call your local office and ask if you can do it straight there... I did it in the office from WTO and it was really easy and quick it only took a few days to get my doc... :D

As of early-mid March, the service is available at 11 state offices of the PGR in Aguascalientes, Chihuahua, Estado de México, Jalisco, Michoacán, Nuevo León, Puebla, Querétaro, Veracruz, Yucatán and Zacatecas.

To pick it up, I would imagine so. However, it is still a new process so double check with them.

Wait at the bottom of the article it says that (translated into English):

The agreement provides that from next August 1, the procedure will also be extended to Baja California, Baja California Sur, Campeche, Coahuila, Colima, Chiapas, Durango, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Morelos, Nayarit, Oaxaca, Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosi, Sinaloa, Sonora, Tobasco, Tamaulipas, and Tlaxcala.

I wonder if they mean this August or next?

I mean to drop it off and pick it up, lol. You can actually put together the package right now and mail it to someone in Mexico City and they can get the PGR on your behalf.. I wonder if thats possible to do now that they offer the services outside DF. Were going to call them Monday to confirm.

For the Birth Certficate, this is now the new requirement they wrote about it:

Acta de nacimiento (legible). En caso de ser naturalizado, presentar carta de naturalización. Si el acta de nacimiento se encuentra en otro idioma, deberá estar debidamente apostillada o legalizada y anexar la traducción al idioma español.

Does this mean it doesnt have to be a current one of this year, only that is has to be legible?? Geeze in the Past few months the PGR has changed it requirements so much its giving me a headache!!! lol. Now I am so confused, we dont have a current birth certificate and were about to spend a lot of money paying a service to get it for us, should we get it anymore?!

They mean this August. It is best to call them to understand the current requirements. It used to be that if you lived in Mexico the prints for the antecedentes registrals had to be done at the PGR forensic office directly in person and only if you lived abroad could you get a separate document called informe de dates registrales with prints taken at a foreign police department that someone locally would have to drop off with a carta poder (no way of doing it via mail, which is why in the last year of so the Canadian Embassy started doing it for people who live abroad). You could have someone else pick up the results with a carta powder.

Yeah you are right, the best thing we can do is ask for the new requirements. Thanks for keeping me level-headed, OhCanadiana. The Mexican Government always makes me very frusterated! haha
