Did he get it between Medical and PR status or did he have it before?

I was thinking more along the lines of HPV. There is no information on that whatsoever, they only talk about HIV and the like. Interesting...

No, a spouse or partner will not be rejected for having an STD. If it is treatable, they will expect you to get it treated. If it is not, they may want monitoring (like with TB) or they may just let you in. Spouses and partners are excessive-demand exempt.

I read somewhere but cant find it now, so maybe someone knows the answer. I read that when they ask for a medical redo because its expired, as in our case an appeal and the medical expired Jan 7/10, that they dont require a full medical as the first time its a bit different? I would love for my husband to get his medical extented just so we can get this mess over with and it takes no more time. Does anyone know if they do extend them to what lenght they do extend? few weeks, couple of months? My husband had excellent medical. I know its too much to hope for but just wondered if anyone new anything. :)

the medical has to be redone and is processed faster than the original...
the HIV in the situation mentioned is questionable, its true that spousal sponsorships are exempt, but it is a threat to the community and immigration wouldn't have just ignored it....unfortunate people have their own adgendas and you just cant believe everything you read

I was under the impression that those things have to be report. Dont you have to register with some medical board to report that your HIV positive or have a certain STD?

I've read this somewhere too, but I can't find it right now. I heard that for the medical after the first has expired the visa office will send you a form, that it is not the same form people use the first time. Try to get the answer straight from New Delhi.

Huh? In the US, you don't have to report STD's... at least HPV, anyway. I've never heard of that before, or maybe I am misinterpreting.

Dont panic I could be completely wrong. I dont think HPV has to be registered, but I had read somewhere that there was a registery for those who have hiv/aids and certain std's. I think those things have to be registered with infectious disease control or something like that. I wished I could remember it was long time ago. :(

Please help, i just want to clarrify, I received my medical request, and planning to submit my RPRF and NBI on Tuesday ( August 3, 2010). At the bootom part of the Canadian Embassy's Letter, there's a box written quote " The information we have requested above must be provided to us within 60 days from the date of this letter. All the required application forms (IMM Forms) can be downloaded from the website of Citizenship and Immigration Canada at www.cic.gc.ca. Failure to provide the information within the time indicated may lead to the refusal of your application."

I just want to ask. What does that mean? What are those IMM forms? It does not indicate in the letter that I need to submit specific or certain IIM forms.

Pls. help me, need to shed light on this statement indicatcated on the box at the botttom of the letter.

Thank you very much.

chrisdalop, did they attach any forms for you to take for your medical? If not, the IMM form they're referring to is probably the form included in the Immigrant's Region Specific form at the end; where you fill out the form and take it to the DMP.

Keep in mind, this is probably a general template letter as well - so the wording is quite standard in most cases.

Good luck :)
