after BGC/Security check any chance of get PPR or I have to go for another medical?

If background checks are completed before expiry of medicals you will get PPR, else you will get another medical request.

Good Morning

I need your advice please

today I had a reply again from Paris VO and this time they said that my application is forwarded back to London VO to pursue the Background verification. My medicals was done on April 22nd ,2013, Do you still think I will have chance to get ppr soon or if remedicals were ordered how long it will take to send ppr after?

Anyone with same situation, whats your analysis of the situation ,I do appreciate your responses.

AOA guyz.
Yesterday I had a call from CHC ISB that they want to interview me in 1st week of april at islamabad embessy. I am assuming its something to do with security? as my meds had already expired in Jan-14. another thing I m confused about is that I have not heard any one having interviewed at chc isb? if any one can shed light and give some useful advice. will be appreciated. they have only asked me to bring my passport and no other family members are required to attend the interview.
JazakAllah
There is a possiblity of being called for a interview at this stage. I have read about another such case on some forum some times back (not sure which forum). Prepare well for the interview and good luck.

Hello everyone:

I am a 2010 applicant, my application went from Buffalo to Ottawa. Did my medicals in Aug 2013, submitted more docs in Oct 2013. I see that it usually takes around 6 months to get PPR after Medicals. But I have also seen some people here that are over 1 year of Medicals and may have to take them again :o

Question: Are there many people who go over 1 year and have to redo their meds, or a very small percentage. We already spent $1500 on medicals... :'(

Thank you
Cam

You could say the ratio is 50:50

There is no way to predict if your background checks will be completed before your meds expire.

Thanks Rizmayo. The only reason I asked is, besides the few people I have encountered on this thread, no where else have I seen PPR take more than a year after meds... and people having to redo meds.

Of course I would not know if my background checks becomes like that, and they could very well take that long, but I thought the percentage of this happening to applicants was low.

Hope everyone gets their Visas in a timely manner and we all move on to our new life. For me it has been a 3.5 year wait already...

Hi,
I am 2007 applicant and did my medical on April 2011. My medical already expired and sine that time i am waiting for second medical. I send couple of email to London office and everytime they said my background checks are outstanding. Not sure are they really doing background checks or it's just an excuse. I am now in state of complate disapointment and now trying to forget that i applied for some immigration in my life.

So sorry to hear that Zealot81, this procedure is far from fare. Most people who applied with me got their visa in 6 months! Like you I had given up after 3 years and was going about my life, but they suddenly sent med requests and made us think about the move again... so we spent $1000 more for the visa they asked for and $1500 on medicals... and now we sit again.

I am just speechless, it is certainly their country and they should decide who they let in, but there must be a better way than this. Many applicants are in limbo for years and so much money wasted... Best of luck to you, you deserve it.

Hi Cam,

Have you sent any kind of reminder to your visa office recently? Usually people who have to have thier meds redone are the ones who get med request within a year or of applying or at most 2.

Generally it is safe to say that if you get med request in your 3rd year, your background checks are complete.

Though you are probably not the only one in this situation, in my opinion this is still rare. Suggest you contact your visa office for a follow up soon.

As your background checks are in process, they will wait till completion of the checks, before issuing a second medical.

Transfer between visa office can slightly delay your case. However they do this to distribute the Visa Offices' workload, not because of any issue with your file.

Background checks take longer if you or any of your dependents have lived in more than one country or served in the military. However I have seen many members who have never traveled but have had their background checks on for many years.
