Why would they care? The report just needs to be dated within 12 months when they assess the application, the reason they are advising you wait for an ITA is because they don't want people spending the money if they aren't going to be selected for an ITA soon.

I was asking because the CIC specifically states that only certain Family Class applicants can have the exam before they apply. I don't want to get rejected because I didn't follow instructions.

so any idea about how to get an up front medical under EE?

Which clinic you called? Thanks!

I couldn't get out of work today, so I rescheduled my medical to this Friday. I will update after my exam. Also, the cost is $325-ish. I cannot recall the exact number that the nurse gave me.

when you do a medical exam under EE, you could face a problem which is they don't know how to put you in the right category!!
so please confirm that they know how to do that for you.
up front medical exam is not a problem.
but if you check the link you have, you will see that's for temporary resident.
another up front medical exam is for family class.
no up front medical exam for EE.

But in ITA if the link has been given it must be for EE ...why would cic give any other category option....

Me too live in Edmonton and today I book an appointment for medical exam and luckily reception was aware abt the programme hence did not ask for any forms etc. Just asked me to carry a piece of I'd that's all.

From what I've read on the CIC website, once you are sent an ITA, you can go get the medical examine.
Here's the link:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp

Only people listed as:

Family Class: Spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner
Family Class: Dependent children of the sponsor or the sponsor’s spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner

are allowed to have an unpfront exam. Everyone else has these instructions:

Wait for instructions once you have submitted your application

CIC:
You will be instructed to go for a medical exam within 60 days of receiving the notice.

It clearly states:
Note: Failure to follow these instructions may result in your application being refused.

So, everyone who is rushing out to get an upfront exam and not waiting for CIC instructions after they apply might have their applications rejected. It is very important to know what class you are filing under and then follow the instructions.

There are enough things that could screw up an application. So, people, please be careful and make sure you do everything correctly and follow all the instructions. Remember the system has changed so just because it was done a certain way last year doesn't mean it's working the same way now!

That's what I mean.
However, the weird thing is CIC should announce this information before they sent ITA.
Because they require candidates to submit ME before they sent out the application!!!!
And NO CLINICS know what to do so far...
If anyone already done their ME under EE, please share!!!
Thanks!!

Hi

Lets say someone gets a ITA & CIC requests for medical. What if the person or his spouse is pregnant? previously, i guess they used to give a grace time for pregnancies. what about now with the rule of getting back with all the docs & medicals within 60 days?
