Wow, that is a big shift. They froze pr applications for parents to prioritize spousal ones, but, hopefully this will not impact our applications

Don’t worry. They increased the number of refugees admitted year over year as well. That should help.

They will only increase some streams for economic immigration (the ones that align with federal economic priorities), but they reduce everything else

This means that they will accept 14000 fewer people for the spousal/partner stream given the previous plans for the upcoming years:

It looks like this includes refugees as well (according to these two reports). Is there any data indicating that they will increase the number of refugees? The only possibility is that more refugees might/will prefer Canada over the US for obvious reasons. It is true that the system is non-ideal and quite unpredictable these days, but I can assure you that it is still very systematic and selective compared to many countries (including the EU and US system in some respects). Well, anyways... Hopefully, they will process our applications soon!

Has anyone applied for inland visitor visa ? I know our group is close to getting the final decision soon, however my wife might need to travel to our home country in the next month. Her initial entry to Canada was on a single entry visa, so she would require a visitor visa for re entry. She has an Open Work Permit and PR application stage is AIP
