The Immigration Levels Plan sets the number of newcomers that Canada plans to welcome each year. If there are more people applying than available spaces, processing times may increase.

I hope this doesn't apply to applications submitted earlier, but in any case this is seriously too long a processing time :(

The priority now for the government is giving all the students from one particular country who are out of status asylum - IRCC resources have been strongly focused there. Just wait until you guys become citizens and learn that refugees and asylum seekers get $224 a day.

That is incorrect and creates more division. I would be more than happy to look at those IRCC documents, which state that refugee claimants get $224 a day.
Id say upload them publicly for everyone to see.

Here you go:

https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/some-illegal-border-crossers-receive-224-in-food-accommodation-per-day

There are plenty more articles. And by the way, that doesn't include one-time allowances for furniture, household items, clothing, etc.

Asylum applications are always approved because they are an application. This adjudication of this application takes 3 - 5 years to process, and these people know this. They get an RTD (Refugee Travel Document), which allows them to travel to more countries (Germany, Caribbean) than their existing passports, they get a work visa, and plenty of other free stuff.

Just read the forums here or on Reddit and you'll see.

IRCC / Trudeau does not care about division. They have already fractured the country. The liberal party is securing future voters.

Enjoy! And welcome to Canada (eventually)

Do you trust the Reddit Forums and the National Post for your information?

Here is the link showing Asylum Claims in Canada from 2007 : https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/pub/89-28-0001/2018001/article/00013-eng.htm
We are bound by the UN and Geneva Agreements on Asylum and the United States and Most of Europe. Ever thought about how this started getting publicity
only to flip a government?
To think Justin Caused this whilst not being the Prime Minister of Canada is one of the biggest hoaxes the Conservatives can spread. Who incidentally will further cut skilled immigration.

No but I trust the actual FOI release contained in the article that came from a Ministerial Inquiry (Paul Ching MP). It’s contained in the article.

I’ve been a Canadian Citizen by birth and four of my grandparents are Canadian citizens.

The worst and most difficult times have always been under Liberal leadership in my experience.

There has been a rapid decline in skilled immigration in the last 9 years which nobody can argue. Skilled immigrants are using Canada as a stepping stone to the United States. That will soon end though.

The worst part? I just want to sponsor my wife. This process (which used to take 4 months) is made excruciatingly painful by Trudeau’s vanity projects and orders in council.

I feel your pain, I have been here for a long time as well and honestly, the last couple of years have made me rethink Everything!
Did the liberals mismanage Immigration? A 100 percent. But a lot of provincial actors are equally to blame.
Everyone wanted to make a quick buck before things got out of hand.

Wow, that is a big shift. They froze pr applications for parents to prioritize spousal ones, but, hopefully this will not impact our applications
