Application was received by IRCC on 3-May.
I received AOR1 on behalf of the PA on 11th June.
However, I (the sponsor) received a weird email from IRCC that says this:
A refund in the amount of $85 has been initiated. If you paid by credit card, it will be credited back to your credit card account. Otherwise, a cheque will be mailed to you at the address indicated above in approximately six weeks to eight weeks.

I am in Canada but my PA (wife and children) are in India. Why would they issue a refund? It seems like it's for biometrics.
But, I dont understand why!

There's no exception for PRs from India.

Edit: someone rightly pointed out that I overpaid for biometric, child under 14 yrs does not need to appear for biometric.

Application received- May 4th
In process- June 16th
Got biometrics letter- June 17th

We got the AOR today (on a Saturday, surprise). Quick question: sponsor's approval is a separate email, is it not? Or are they one and the same thing?

Separate email! I had been checking the ECAS using sponsor's details every morning and yesterday it had switched to "Decision Made" under sponsorship, but we didn't get an email until later in the day.

Wonderful news, congrats, and thank you!
We're now wrestling with the utterly uncooperative system trying to link the bloody thing to my husband's CIC account..none of the combinations we tried today worked, so annoying!

For me, application was received on 3-May, received AOR1 on 11-June. No sign of SA approval yet. I was expecting some form of delay because I just moved to Canada and did not yet file tax in Canada yet (and that's not going to happen until 2022). So, I could not fulfill that CRA form, line 150 requirement. I have sent a letter of explanation with past 5 years tax form in the USA. Let's see how it goes.

We were in same situation with no Canadian tax to report since my sponsor has been in the US for 9 years - it seems like our SA took a bit longer from AOR1 than a lot of other people on the spreadsheet, but it did eventually come! Hope you hear something soon.

Hi,
My husband and I applied whilst together in Quebec, I have since returned to the UK for a while. Does anyone know the best way to update my passport details as I have had to renew it? Or can I attend the biometric appointment with my old passport?

Thank you everyone for posting your info so I knew to keep a look out for communications this week.

4th May: Application posted from Quebec via Canada Poste
10th May: Application delivered to Sydney office
23rd June: PA received email with invite for Biometrics
24th June: Sponsor received email with confirmation of application
