On Oct 31

Any May applicants under Manila Visa Office who received their PPR yet? Praying for our PPRs to be emailed soon

My background check changed to "In Progress" today :)

FYI: No e-mail notification received. Saw it only on MyCIC.

So, we are filling up the form that we received with PPR and question is do we have to fill up Souse/Partner column too ? I believe we have to. Can't decide.

Hey Guys,

I need some help here, my application seems to be taking ages and I don't know why. My application was received on March 18th this year and they started processing on May 10th. On july 7th they requested my medical check which I did the same week but since then I have heard nothing. MyCIC just says background check in progress. I sent an email asking if I have missed something and they just said my application is being reviewed by a visa officer. This is the Sydney visa office. Has anybody elses application taken this long? Does anybody have any idea why mine could be taking so long?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!

TIA

Are many May applicants seeing background check in progress yet?

As of today:

Application/profile status Closed
Review of eligibility Passed
Review of medical results Passed
Review of submitted documents
Scheduling an interview
A background check is needed Complete
Final decision This application has been approved

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Good luck everyone!

CONGRATS to everyone who has received their PPR
or reached positive Decision Made

We we advised on Sept 29 that we'd passed interview and eligibility
and we told the only thing remaining is security checks.

No word since then. Sigh. Hoping every day to reach Decision Made.
Waiting ...

Hi benjaminbutton21,

There are two things you might look in to:

1. First, what is the average timeline for applications from your wife's country? I just checked the average processing time as shown on the Canadian govt Immigration website for Austrailia for example, and it shows 10 months.
If your spouse is applying from Australia for example it might be that case that her application is still within the normal processing time.
You can look for other applicants coming from the same country as your spouse in the threads for other months like April and June to see if others are faster or slower.

2. You can call your Federal MP's office and tell them you haven't heard anything on your immigration application since March, and ask them to make an inquiry for you with the Immigration department.
If the MP's office is doing it's job they should agree to make an inquiry for you given the length of time since you applied. Within a couple of days they should be able to give you some information such as confirming that Immigration has told them your application is in process and there are one or two steps remaining which might take X amount of time to reach conclusion.

Good Luck.
