I submitted my application the same day as yours. My status shows the same as yours (Application Received).
If you can track your application, it means you got AOR1. AOR means Acknowledgement Of Receipt.
AOR1 is when Mississauga receives the application package. AOR2 is when your Visa Office receives the application after AOR1 and SA is completed.
SA means Sponsorship Approval.
AOR1 > SA > File transfers to Visa Office > AOR2 > Applicant will be evaluated > If any document is missing, you will be asked. Maybe interview is required. If everything is good, hopefully they will do PPR (Passport request for Visa Stamp).
Right now I believe the sponsor is being evaluated. When that's done, you will get SA and then your file will be transferred to New Delhi office I believe.
I have a Indian friend who applied in December 2015 and his wife got visa in May 2016. Total time took less than 5 months.
I heard New Delhi is doing applications faster now a days.
Good Luck for you.

Hi thakkarc, I also have heard that Visitor Visa applications are frequently refused
when there is an outstanding Perm Visa application.
Some people have also said that it doesn't harm the Perm Visa application.
If you file an application for Visitor Visa be certain that you are very clear
to record your Perm Visa application is outstanding. Record the reference
number. One thing you want to avoid is giving immigration the impression
that you aren't providing all the information - that you're trying to play the system.
So be very clear.
I really don't know if you have any chance of getting a visitor visa at this time.
My husband and I assume he would not qualify for another Visitor Visa now that
we filed the application for Permanent, so we're not going to ask for one.

Hi buddies,
My spouse is the applicant from Nepal. The application processing time for Nepal shows 10 months. Does it apply to her or the application processing time from Canada, from where I have submitted all the documents including my sponsor application, i.e 17 months, is applied to our case?? I am confused. Since there is no Visa Office in Nepal, her case is looked after by New Delhi Visa Office. For India, it is 19 months to complete the case. So, which of the processing time may be applied on our case?

Thanks

The processing time stated means that 80% of applicants from Nepal are processed in 10 months or less regardless of which visa office it is sent to. Because of this, the processing times listed on the website are often very inaccurate. With a solid application, you should expect it to take less time.

No problem ;D. Just use visa-office and country specific threads here along with spreadsheets to get a better idea of how long you should expect your application to take. CIC processing times always have been and always will be inaccurate, regardless of how they display it.

ECAS (applicant side) has been updated for me today.. Line added says application received May 16th 2016.
My side (sponsor) still nothing yet

How do you know about the processing time stated means 80% of applicant each country? Where is on CIC website tell you?
Thank you.
