Hi,

Does anyone know what does CIC base on when assigning the outland application to specific VISA office?
I heard some people had their application assigned to Ottawa instead of VISA office in their own country, and Ottawa processes the application really really fast (as short as 3 months)

thanks

no, no one knows why certain files are sent, except for those applicants who have legal, temporary status in canada (ie: current work/study permits). for others it seems random, and seems to be related to overflow issues at other visa offices. I believe most of the applicants are from the UK.

Also, keep in mind, getting sent to ottawa does not guarantee quick processing. Applications from countries other than the US have been known to take longer, closer to 6-8 months or longer. the processing depends on various factors (where the applicant is from and how long it takes to get information, the visa officer's work habits, etc.)

My wife is on closed work permit, and I have filed for Outland Spousal from India. Does it mean there is a chance it will get processed through Ottawa VO??

Congrats for the wedding vhaibhavxv

While I was reading more about arranged marriage I found this quote "I don’t think love marriage and arranged marriage are as different as we make them out to be -Michael J. Rosenfeld

As long as we're happy in our marriages that is what matters ;)

That's true. Thanks for the wishes :) :)

I would ask in the new dehli thread. i can't say for sure if it's only from certain countries or if it's anyone with temp status. unfortunately, you won't know until they tell you.

One of my friend applied on Jan 4, 2016 , got PPR on May 9th 2016.

Interesting to note that some of the applications in NDVO is getting processed in lightning speed. I wish other embassies process the applications at lightning speed.

Again, we are talking about Spouse application correct? Sponsor approval would have come arorund Feb-March time frame, and 2 months to finalize the case..wow.

Yes, they got SA in mid March, 2 months after that. I wish it remains like this for all of us.

Just a follow up, no one else in April has gotten SA yet. We're hoping they send a batch of emails or something this week.

Dear Friends,
Please suggest me if I should submit my birth-certificate too, when I have already got the citizenship certificate and PP from my local administration's recommendation. Should I now make the birth-certificate too??

Thanks.
