Got the COPR Today!!!!!!

Mail from Ottawa.... the DM was published on October 6th. I got the Letter today...

it took about 5 months.... hopefully most of you will received soon!!!!

Question: I am US Citizen, still have business to close in USA, Can I do the landing, like monday, and then come back to US a week later ? or I need to stay in Canada until the PR card arrive....

My status changed to "In Process" on or around Oct 9. I was on vacation so I'm not the exact date it changed. Ottawa office.

Here's hoping that actually means it is "in process" and not that fake "in process" people over the last 2 months have been getting!

Ditto! I ordered case notes in hopes of verifying the IP is legit. I'll let you know when they arrive. Mine app went IP the same day as yours. Fingers are crossed!

hey, me I got an email requesting more documents. More prooves for genuine relationship, more pictures and prooves that my husband lives in canada. I have been worried since then. Then they called me on phone asking if my husband is living in canada and what does he do.. Anyone like me?

yes my application has changed in ecas to "in process" two weeks ago. here is my timeline:

We received your application for permanent residence on May 11, 2015.
We started processing your application on July 15, 2015.
Medical results have been received.

But till now no sign. I wonder how much time does it take to get a phone call or an email. Anybody knows?

I need an advise please.

After 5months of waiting for an approval of myself being a sponsor. I got denied. The reason is that I didn't inform them that we were a common law partner before I become a PR.

Nov 2012 - we met
October 2013 - we moved in
Octobter 2014 - we got engaged
(October 2014) - I should have told them that after a year of living together, we will qualify for a common law and I DIDNT inform them (don't know why i didnt)
Nov 2014 - I became a PR
Feb 2015 - got married
May 2015 - applied for sponsor
Oct 2015 - denied of family sponsorship


So, whats is my next step? Do i pass the same documents plus an explanation why i didnt let them know?
Im stuck. It says in their letter, I can apply to be a sponsor again if the INEGIBILITY IS RESOLVED.

File went IP right around the same time I got Sponsor Approval Aug 20th.
Hoping things will start moving for us soon, but with my husbands prior military experience
it's been mentioned that they have to do extra security checks based on where he was
deployed and stationed.. so...... Not really expecting anything too soon

I've seen the same question in another forum, and the response they got was that you will never be able to sponsor your spouse because you lied on the application.

It may be your best bet to consult an immigration lawyer to determine your options.

I was going to suggest that LondonMB open a new topic under Family Class so that the general readership with the very experienced answerers could respond. But then I noticed that yesterday LondonMB tagged onto an old thread on a similar subject and got some interesting and detailed responses. The summary of the advice seems to be LondonMB misrepresented as a PR applicant under another class and his best chance is to renounce his PR and leave Canada, re-apply but this time be truthful about his spouse, and after being in Canada again for the prescribed period re-apply to sponsor his spouse and explain the past situation honestly. So no more discussion needed in this thread on the subject. And yes, an immigration lawyer would also help or back up the forum advice.

Hello my friends, I (as an applicant) received an email from CIC (CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca) this morning (Oct 23, 2015), asking for the Intent to Reside:

BTW, the email sounds like a batch email that concerns us about everything, including our address, our plan to have/adopt any child, Proof of Residence/Intent to Reside, whether Right of Permanent Residence Fee has been paid, Police Certificates, CSQ (only for Quebec, not for us), and Medical examination.

The paragraph that asks for the Intent to Reside reads

We wish to ask you at this time to provide additional proof that your sponsor resides in Canada. This includes but is not limited to: pay stubs, T4 slips, utility bills, banking history, employment letters, lease agreements, etc. Driver's licences, Property tax assessments, Social Insurance or Health Insurance cards are not sufficient.



If your sponsor does not currently reside in Canada, please provide proof that he/she intends to reside in Canada. This includes but is not limited to employment letters, lease agreements, copies of correspondence with: potential employers, real estate companies, property rental agencies, health care agencies, insurance agencies, financial institutions, etc. Please provide as many indicators as possible as any single one of these may not be enough on its own to prove intent of residency. Driver’s licences, property tax assessments, social insurance or health insurance cards are not sufficient to show intent to return.

We are now living in the United States. We have included lots of stuff about our intention back to Canada in our original application packages, including our written Proof_of_Intention letter, our timeline back to Canada, her mother's written letter of asking us back, her frequent flight ticket back to Canada (monthly flying back), our correspondences with our potential employers in Canada, the State of Title Certificate of my wife (sponsor)'s owned apartment in Canada, her live bank account statements, completed notice of assessment of her Canadian tax returns (she still fills Canadian tax returns every year) for last 3 years, etc.

We have not fixed any definite returning job offer yet but we are actively working towards them. Aren't these proofs sufficient for them? If we'd like to send them again, which address of CIC should we use to send?
