You're definitely not alone. What will we need the letter for? Will it be to check our status?

Well, the letter itself will say whether the sponsor has been approved or denied, but I'm extra antsy to get it because I'm in Canada - my work permit has expired, and thereby, so has my health insurance. They can't reinstate my health coverage until they have a copy of the letter showing that my fiance has been approved to sponsor me, apparently.

do you think they will give me info if i phone again? or they would just tell me to wait again. :'(

My ECAS finally changed today to DM. It said letter was sent on Monday and since call centre agent said I had SA I changed data on the spreadsheets to say SA was on July 27.

As Gemmie said, the processing times page should change today or tomorrow so better just wait until you get the green light to call instead of trying to go early.

I'm actually in Canada too but I'm guessing you were already here before you were sponsored hence, you were eligible for a work permit, health insurance etc.? I was under the impression that if you apply via an outland application, you can't get a work permit until you get your PR. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks!

Yes it is true. If you are applying as an outland applicant, you are not eligible to get a work permit even if you are in Canada - based on what others on the forum have told me.

a very nice agent answered my call! finally!!! a nice agent!!!

his exact words are: they are still processing your application but to give you a good news, you pass to sponsor. congratulations! just wait for the letter that they're going to send you.

ahhh!! im relieved. happy wife here!!! one step closer to being with my hubs again.

And in keeping with CIC's ultimate goal of keeping me totally frustrated.. they did not update the processing times page today lol

I will look again tomorrow ......

Our timeline is sent app in May 28, they received it May 29. AOR 1 was received on July 8.
When do I update our line on the spreadsheet? It says they sent us correspondence on July 27. Do I put that date for SA? Or the day I get the letter (if I get it)?

Put the date for SA as the date they say they sent correspondence. It was at that date that they approved sponsorship and sent a letter saying so.

You are in the 2015 Outland spreadsheet but there is also a May 2015 Outland spreadsheet. See the links in my signature.

To be consistent, "App. Filed" to the left in your profile should be the date it was filed by CIC, rather than the date it was sent so I think you should change it to 29-05-2015.

Congrats on the DM which should be a yes for SA.

If you (or anyone else for that matter) don't get the correspondence right away, don't worry...we got DM last week and they said correspondence had been sent on July 22, but we got nothing after a week so I called today. He said it wouldn't be going out for a week, but my wife was approved as a sponsor.

Hi; new here as well. What a wealth of information!

Our application was received May 28. AOR on July 3rd and saw DM for SA on July 30. It said correspondence has been sent on July 27th.

We're expecting the app to go to Paris based on citizenship but I (applicant) have been in Canada for a long time so not sure.

I'm so frustrated with the inability for the people in charge to update the processing times pages to do the job.

Which is update it weekly.

Not update it on the 24th and say it was updated on the 14, not update it when they feel like it . It says updated Weekly... meaning
that it should be updated once a week. And now rolling into the long weekend.. I wonder if they will even update it this week at all..
Which means I cant call , I'm the 26th, waiting for SA and they just will not update that site so I can call and ask them what the heck
is going on with my application.

I just feel so frustrated with this. I know I should be patient, but when I am told they are processing files from the 25th and I know
people from later then that have gotten their approvals it makes me think they put mine in some dusty drawer and forgot it......

Sorry for the vent.. No one else really understands what I'm so frustrated about because they have no experience with this sort of thing.

Hey guys! Just wanted to let everyone know that we ECAS updated to DM1 on July 20th and we just got our SA letter (via email) today! I know others were waiting (also impatiently) to get theirs - hang in there!!!
