Three days later we got the access to the ECAS. Sponsorship Application Status: In process. PR status: Application Received (medical received).

Just want to confirm something... I just found an information on the forum that you can move to Canada while applying and waiting for the PR (I have no idea why I didn't think about it before).
So is it true?
We are living in Poland and I'm applying for my PR in the outland process. We have received an AOR so far, waiting for my wife's SA.
So the question is: could I move with my Canadian wife to Canada while our application is being processed at our local VO? If so, how to do it? Could I enter Canada as a visitor and apply for a work permit/work visa once we are there or could I apply for the work permit/work visa outland and move to Canada once I get it (while my PR application is going to be still processing at a local VO)?
Please help cause that could change our whole moving plan.

You can stay in Canada while waiting for your PR being processed outland only as a visitor. You cannot work there, you won't have a medical insurance, unless you buy it yourself. Even for people who were applying inland, there were no work possibilities during the wait up until recent times. The government changed the law a few months ago and now inland applicant will be able to apply for OWP after SA. But it s not working for outland applicants who staying in Canada.
As of TRV, if you don't have it yet, it is better to apply after you get SA, although there will be still high chances of refusal.

As Inpasarable said, as an outland applicant you can enter into Canada under a visitor's visa and stay, but you cannot apply for a work visa nor can you work.

You have the option to renew your visitor's visa an additional 6 months; you'd want to apply via the proper channels around the 5 month mark of your current visitor visa.

The only option for an Open Work Permit is through the new Express Entry Program for Inland applicants.

If you had an online job/job where you could work from home, then you'd be set. Sadly, those aren't easy to come by.

You could technically withdraw your outland application and re-file as inland (after you change the forms) and get an Open Work Permit, but the process is longer to get PR as an inland applicant. If you did this before SA is given, I do believe all your fees would be refunded. If you change from outland to inland after SA but before your paperwork is processed, you'd lose the $75 but would get back the huge payment for your application portion. (You would want to triple check if that were to be something you wanted to do.)

So, in a nut shell:

Outland - Can enter in to Canada as a visitor. Can renew visitor visa. Cannot work. Shorter processing times (by about half).

Inland - Can live in Canada while application is processed. Can work with an OWP granted XX days after filing application. Longer process, and cannot leave Canada for lengthy periods until PR given.

We all feel your pain. :-[

Thank you for your help.
