We sent our application on 5/9/2015, expecting it to arrive at CIC tomorrow, 5/12/15. I added myself to the outland spreadsheet.

How did you send your package? If you got a signature, you should know the arrival date. It's currently between 3-4 weeks for an AOR, but still ~63 days for SA. With your AOR, you will get an UCI and can check your status on eCAS (if you have an UCI from another immigration process, you can use it now, but it won't say anything until you get your AOR).

Thank you. I am not sure if I have the UCI number yet unless I didn't notice it.
I sent my package by a Polish Post courier on the 6th of May. It left Poland on the 8th of May and should be picked up by a Canada Post courier and delivered to Mississauga. I can track the package on-line.
The Canada Post website info from yesterday: '2015/05/11 20:09 MISSISSAUGA, ON Item has arrived in Canada and was sent for further processing. Expected delivery: 1-3 business days.'
I hope it will reach CPC tomorrow.

I forgot to put 'CPC Mississauga' on the envelope :( All I put is: 'Family Class - Spouses and Dependents' and the address: 2 Robert Speck Parkway, Suite 300, L4Z-1H8, Mississauga, Canada. Is that OK?

I am sure that it will be okay. The important thing is that you got the address.

Application was received by CPC this morning and signed by Raspar. The official wait begins. :D

Thank you for the answer.
I am happy for you that your package is in the CPC. I am still waiting for my package to be there. Hopefully it will get there today, max tomorrow.

I sent my app on the 8th of May, got there by the 12th of May. Updated the spreadsheet as well. Good luck to all!

I sent my application out on May 4th, and it arrived May 5th.

Is anyone else from the US who submitted theirs?

My Common-Law partner, who is the applicant, is from the USA. Our application was received on May 8. The wait for Sponsorship Approval (or any news, really) is agonizing.

Spinning_Sponsor,

I hear you!

It looks though that the times between the application being received and the time that people are getting AOR are down considerably even from January. (I'm looking at the google doc for 2015.)

Still, I keep making my spouse check the spam folder in the event the AOR magically appears there since it's not in the inbox.

I'm in a FB group for the Spousal/Common Law sponsorship, and I've seen the last half a dozen people go from submission to PR received in 3-4 months.

Many of the applications seem to be kept in Mississauga for more "straightforward" applications. It seems that around February, they started kicking it into high gear with faster turn arounds.

The IMM0008 form was updated this year, and the CIC removed the option where it let you select the visa office you wanted your application to go. I'm hoping that's because the people in Mississauga who approve the SAs are able to use discretion as to where the application should be sent if at all. (e.g. if it's very clear that the relationship is valid, why send it away to a visa office that's backed up?)

My fingers are crossed that 1) the CIC realized they had to step up their game by helping alleviate backlog at other offices 2) they recognize that sending straight-forward outland applications to a VO of another country is a waste of time, and 3) my application stays in Mississauga, which has very swift processing times in recent months.

I forgot even to put the "Family Class - Spouses and Dependents" line, just "CPC Mississauga" and my application was fine and opened at the same time as people that had labels.

Welcome to the club! Americans are mostly being sent to Ottawa and are being done faster than average.

Thanks, mate. Good to know that most go to Ottawa (and stay in Canada). I've had a hard time finding other US applicants in the groups I was in prior in order to get an accurate timeline.

What do you think the average is lately for US applicants?

So USA Outland can be either kept in Mississauga for Applicant Approval, or sent to Ottawa? And Mississauga is the faster of the two?

All the Application for Outland Spousal Sponsorship Go to Mississauga and Once it Does Get Approval then it will be Sent to Specific Visa Office. Ottawa will Receive Package Once It will Pass First Stage that is SA.Case Processing Centre: Ottawa, Ontario is Visa Office for Spousal Sponsorship for USA .

It would seem that US applicants stay in Mississauga or go to Ottawa, yes. (Mapleson might be able to confirm that.) I haven't seen anyone's application actually go to the US in the last 6 months that I've been putting mine together.

As far as the times between the offices, Mississauga being faster is just what I've observed based on other's processing times. I don't have enough hard data to back that claim, just the info from those I've interacted with.

I'm looking at the google docs now from those who have filled it out on this forum to see if I can glean an average between the two offices. I'll let you know what I find, but I know every situation is different. (Logic would suggest that keeping an app in one place would be faster, even if by those few days it takes to be sent to a new location and opened. We all know that this whole process is anything but logical though. :D )

Could it also just be that people aren't updating their spreadsheet, so even though it shows Mississauga (since that's where it gets initially sent), their stage 2 is in fact Ottawa?
