Hi Everyone,

Starting a thread for folks who took their citizenship test in May 2014 and what sort of timelines they get after that for the oath. I took my test at the Scarborough office on May 5.

Hope to read about some other people's timelines.

Regards,

AP

Hello everyone,

can Anyone please help me to understand as you have attended the test recently you may remember some,
if there is an interview mandatory after the test with an officer?
what all questions asked in the interview..or they specific to 1095 days?
do we need to go along with all the documents that prove our 1095 days on test date.if any questions on the interview date,we can show them right away and avoid future RQ's?

I have no news so far from november 2013 except status update online.
thank you,

Hi,

Does anyone know how the Bill C24 affects us, applied for citizenship before this bill but haven't been granted one yet as the whole process is extremely time consuming, so if we get it after the bill becomes a law, what happens? Same rules apply to us as new applicants even tough we applied long before this bill?
Also does it equally affect the ones who are already citizens? Thanks.

Don't worry you will be fine. Yes it is mandatory to attend the interview which is very short. All the officers are friendly.

The interview is mandatory. It depends on each case. Some people get friendly officers who just ask a few general questions. Some officers can be tough checking every single stamp and asking very probing questions. It is best to prepared by bringing as much as proof about physical presence in Canada such as T4s, NOAs, lease agreements/mortgage statements/letter of employment and also if have boarding passes from your trips.
My interview was about 10 minutes and the officer went thru my passport and each stamp thoroughly. Good luck!

l passed the test May 6th ( with the RQ)
