I am also a future Calgary office applicant .The common observation about Calgary office is that its (relatively) slower than other local offices i.e.Missisauga ,Windsor ,however your timelines are really encouraging .
Would you mind telling was there any thing unique with your application/circumstances ,as per your understanding ?

You are right. It doesn't trend with the general 23 month observation for Calgary because I requested my file be merged with the earlier submitted application of my family members. I was short of residence days when they applied in July 2012. I guess we were lucky the merge sped mine up as opposed to delaying theirs.

Called the CIC today to inquire about my application. The agent told me that I haven't yet been scheduled for the test. no kidding!!!
I explained that I have the ATIP report and all clearances are done and I asked about the activities the Montreal office is working on. She said everything is done. The only activity the CIC Montreal has to do next is schedule the test. So I raised my concerns about the application being lost and I backed it up with timelines such as my sister's and some timelines for June/July applicants on this forum (Montreal office) which are much shorter than mine.
The agent seemed to be concerned as well. She said that I should contact the Montreal office directly by mail. She sent me the address. I am hesitant to actually take the next step and send a letter. I will give the CIC time for this week and I will make my decision from there.

I'm surprised that the agent even gave you this much detail. Usually, the standard response is to wait 9 months after the transfer to local office, in our office that would be around Aug-Oct based on when the file was transferred to the local office. Can you not just go to Montreal CIC Office and ask them directly saying that the CIC call centre gave you the detail?

Wow Farrous that is pretty damn boss! Nice work man. I am July 13er and my application is still in Sydney so there are some of us in the same boat.

i called the call center today to inquire about my Application status ( Sep 2013 , IN Process Nov 2013 , LOT jan 2014 Scar Family ) the agent said it is to early to check it is either 24 or 36 month and call us back
i would like to understand is this agent is laying to him self or what i hate being rude but really he disappointed me because other agents check and give a correct estimation
I pray to God to get out of this deal and stop dealing with the CIC
i could not plan any thing in my life and even vising my family became hard because of the un-clarity

I got the same aswer when I called CIC couple of days ago, don't be upset
some agents give you a clear answer and some do not, it depens on your chance actually, the way is after a while call them again and ask the same question and talk to somebody else, don't forget to let us know that's going on ...

Is there a thread for other Sept 2013 Applicants? Suggest you check with them what is happening with their files, otherwise check on the link in my signature. I think expecting any movement on your file when you applied less than 8 months ago is very optimistic. It looks like local offices have slowed down processing since Feb 11 oath date files. It's pointless to ask folks like Farrous who are further in the queue than you since they are on a different timeline. My opinion though, just going by the law of averages. Stranger things have happened with files - you never know.
