hanisaf, did you call the CIC lately?

The lady I spoke to was super nice. see my post below. Didn't get an RQ from Sydney, so Montreal's office is the only obstacle left.

BTW, I called to let them know that I will be travelling for 3 weeks for Christmas. I know this is a risk, but not concerned guys.

The weird thing is that the CIC agent said that my file was transferred on the 10th of Sep 2013. But that's the date my file is in process. I didn't pay attention until I hung up. I was like AAAAAHHHHHHH!

I am looking at the table and I see that my processing time is far away from most of the applicants. ALso I know for a fact that the dates on the ecas are not accurate...so dunno. All I can say is my file was transferred but the date is not accurate in my opinion.

;D

Just called CIC this morning. My file is still in the process of transiting to Vancouver local office.
According to the agent, they are running a background check. What is that supposed to mean?

Congratulations farrous13,

no I actually did not call recently. I am in fact expecting my first baby in the coming days and too busy preparing for that event.

I will call them next week to see if anything is required from my part because of the family change. I will ask them about the transfer as well.

Let's keep in touch

Thanks farrous13,
I am looking online for information on whether I should update the citizen application because of the child. I does not seem the case, which is different that the PR application where you have to update CIC of any family change.
Any input on that?

I don't believe you have to notify them. I did a quick search, but didn't find any relevance. Just call them and see what they say. But just because your child will be a citizen by birth, I don't believe you need to inform them since there will be no impact on your file.

Keep me posted :)

I meant the date of your file transfer looks weird. It shouldn't be the September 10th as u mentioned your eCAS was initiated on that day.
Anyway, congrats….hope u hear about your test invite soon.
In my case, the eCAS (in process) was initiated on September 6 (4 days earlier than you) and file was transferred to the local office on November 4th.

Ya that's why I was disappointed when I hung up the phone with the CIC agent. She confirmed that my file was transferred, but I do agree that the date does not sound right.

I will call tomorrow or next week to question. Hope I get a definite answer. :D

I just called CIC:
1- no need to update the file if the child is born in Canada
2- my file was transferred to the local office in montreal on nov 7th ;D
The agent told me that i should hear from the local office within the next 9 months

I told the agent that I am leaving for a week during Christmas and asked whether it is early to declare such a leave. The agent said note and put the information in the file to make sure the test is not scheduled during my absence. This indicates that although they claim a two year processing time, they still anticipate some tests sooner than later.

11/20 I received the request for finger print today..
Feel like the process will gona take forever now
Applicants on the east side of Canada don't get asked for their fingerprints (at least I haven't gotten across one case). Any idea when does the CIC agency request that? Is their a pattern is number of months? Let us know curious.
