Hi torontonianguy. Are you a May applicant?

Send all the school records you have done in Canada. Just ask for them at your school. I am not sure how to guide you more from here.

I called last week and got the same answer as you. actually my application was out of line (delayed« not sure what `s happened) for over a month (considering the in process time line of rest May applicants except you).

i ll try again though after a month.

By definition of the CIC process, "In Process" means that the file has been transferred to "local office". I am not sure what we are chasing.

Previously, that definition was correct. In more recent times however, they've set the status of applications to 'In Process' right after opening and verifying completeness in Sydney. The 'In process' definition on the CIC webpage you reference was just never updated accordingly.

My application is still in Sydney, NS. Just to let you guys know.

When I called CIC, they didn't even want to ask me for my client ID and told me that everyone's(!!!) applications are still in Sydney. Actually sounded somewhat annoyed and told me the entire process takes about 18 months. Anyway, I understand they don't want people calling them monthly, but then why some people are given more info than the others?

you should have called them again. Different agents act differently; some of them are nice and quite helpful while some of them do a lousy job.

i got the exactly same response. seems like i have to give them a break for couple of months..

Good Evening guys,

I was looking at this spreadsheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ai9o70015IRPdFl6MnhXV0VZbnN1YnZWLXpld0Vya1E#gid=4

and I was stunned to see this applicant's processing time: 9 months!!! :o in MONTREAL!!! :o how come? Check row 695. I can't believe it. What's so special about that person's application. I wish the CIC would treat a lot of us equally. Why would someone have to wait 2 years while some wait 8 or 9 months.

advice needed

Hi guys I applied for my citizenship with my parents(through lawyer) on Oct 2012 and it has been in process since Feb 2013. In May 2013 my Father got R.Q. Today I called CIC to check my status and they told me that everything looks okay on my file but since one of my family member has got R.Q so my application has been automatically delayed(36 months). At the time of application I requested my lawyer to file my application separately as I am adult and not dependent on my parents but apparently he mailed our file in one envelope to CIC. :o

I am planing to pursue medical education in US(next year) and Canadian passport will definitely increase my chance. So if any experienced forum member can guide me on my situation it would be of great help. Is there a way to separate my file now and have it processed separately or I am just stuck with this situation :'(

Thanks in advance

I'll just do the same.

Re: advice needed

I don't think file separation is possible at this point. You may seek suggestion from senior members in the main forum at http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/citizenship-b12.0/ by posting a new topic mentioning "help from senior members regarding file separation" or by consulting a lawyer or by calling CIC call center directly. Good luck.
