In fact, both case scenerio they are from Africa. I know so many from Europe that got thru withiin a year. It is more about personal record(no or minimum travel, education, employment, no criminal record and more) and luck (the person that handle the file) :-X :-X :-X

I would second it, down the road the files are processed by humans and it turns out that some of them are flexible and the other ones a**l.

I heard of people (some) are getting their citizenship within a year of filing their application (if not RQed). Just curious, how many per cent of applicants get RQed (i m getting an impression that majority of applicants are getting RQ). Issuing an RQ shouldnt be a random process rather a selective one (based on individual cases).

Let's see if i get RQed or not (after a bumpy ride in initial processing)

Below are my details:
I have been in Canada 5+ years and left Canada for vacation or work 3 times.
i was never unemployed
I have continuing (permanent) job (in fact i included my offer letter in the application)

Guys - An applicant from Windsor, ON got a test date for October 28, 2013 with application receipt date April 04, 2013 and in process date June 19, 2013. Isn't that amazing?

Some of us should start reading the booklet ;D.

It is amazing, considering current timelines and climate at CIC. But that's also nothing new-- there are couple offices within GTA (Mississauga, Windsor) that may process straightforward cases within a year. But if you somewhere else-- forget about it.

I agree. The applicant will be writing the test in less than 7 months of processing. If everything goes alright and he gets the Oath date fairly soon, that will be the quickest processing timeline that I have seen so far.

Wow! that's so quick but most applicants get Test Date 7months of processing.

Thanks Chandu for sharing that info. It helps us to understand the trends CIC going through.

I saw that Chandu007. But here are the different scenarios:

1- The applicant will get the oath in a timely manner (2 to 4 months) after the exam. Maybe on the same day :)
2- The applicant might get an RQ before writing the exam. Hope it doesn't happen. Ultimately it would delay the application if it does.
3- The applicant might just have to wait a long time before getting an oath date setup.

I hope he doesn't have to wait. It would be amazing to see applicants' applications being processed that fast. I am amazed considering that the applicant's application was received in April (one month ahead of MAY people :P ;D :P ;D) and even more amazed that the applicant got his acknowledgment fairly quick. He/She does not mention if the application was ever transferred to the local office. Wonder why? or if it's even mentioned online on his/her updates.

Do you have any ideas if sometimes applications in Toronto or Ontario usually take longer than usual? Is this an isolated case or complete luck? or is the $44 billion budget being implemented? 8)

chandu007 what about my proposition of including the nationalities and the physical days in Canada for MAY applicants so we can compare and try (statistically we might not be able to, but worth a try) to decipher the way CIC processes citizenship applications.

Nice to hear some people are moving quickly towards getting citizenship. Budget allocated to speed up process is $44 million rather $44 billion.

That's only possible in CIC Windsor. Windsor is known for its fast processing. Not many immigrants want to go and live there, in one of the most polluted cities in Canada.

Hi guys,

How you holding up? :D

I noticed that the start of application processing for some applicants that applied in 2012 takes place a year after. Does anyone know why? Most of us here have a wait time of 1 to 3 months from the time the application is received. For example, CIC received the application of someone in Jan 2012. But started processing in Feb 2013. That's a long wait.

Give me some insight if you have any clue or theories.

Hi farrous13 - As far as I know, the applicant didn't call the CIC Call Center which is the only way to know about any information on local office file transfer. The e-cas doesn't show any update on local office file transfer.

I am not too sure if everyone will be comfortable disclosing their nationalities here. You may try to collect those information and see how applicants react.

CIC's "In Process" declaration strategy was different at that time. Currently, CIC declares "In Process" immediately after opening the application packet and by making sure that the file is "complete" for processing considering the application checklist.

i think.. the best start could be....putting flag of native country rather than Canada in the profile.
