No - i will wait till end of this month to hear from them - otherwise i will order for one - by looking at the current trend, i am hoping that most of the, if not all, applications IN PROCESS from October should hear from CIC !!

yeah lets hope so

I am just wondering how is criminity assessment different from security. Does anyone have any idea about the difference between the two. It seems like my security check is next on the list of CIC but no officer has been assigned yet.

All I can say is that criminality is simply running one's name and finger print through the database of serious offenders kept by FBI, RCMP or the national police in the country that one has stayed beyond 6 months. Security check is an intelligence based check conducted by the CSIS. The process is kept secret. A link by qorax on other forum provides some details

Thanks JJC..I had read that thread last year, I wasn't able to find it today. Thanks for the keywords, found it again. According to Qorax it's an investigation into your history. They will most probably contact intelligence agencies from countries were you have lived for work and stuff like that. I haven't lived in Ny other country except my home country n country of residence which is Canada. On my GCMS notes it says "Refusal Grounds: 0. I believe that's a good sign....Medical, Crimibality n Eligibility passed, any thoughts ?

I guess your background check is still ongoing which will pretty much be completed soon. Good luck

Hello immigrationaspirant,

I have the same notes as you. All passed and security blank. I have not been assigned to a official yet.

Hopefully It will be soon. I think the security is done, but they cannot put anything in there for "security reasons"

Does "refusal ground:0 " mean that it is not finalized yet, or it actually means that they have no reason to refusal the app?

I am not too sure about that. I believe that if its not decided then they would leave it blank. Again I am not sure how to decipher this. But would love to see someone throw some light on that.

please update my timeline... addlt doc (JPC) submitted 1/14/14, PPR 1/27/14, Decision Made 2/12/14
