Hi guys,

the DMP confirmed my medical results were sent on March 1st, and today I received my RPRF email !
From what I understand, it means my application is "approved" on the basis of my documents and that I'll get PR as soon as they get criminal checks, security checks and medicals back.

That's what the email says :

Dear xxx :

This is in reference to your application for a permanent resident visa, which has been found eligible in the Class for which it was submitted. Admissibility review (security, criminality and/or medical) is still ongoing; you will be contacted if additional information is required for that purpose.

Cheers !

Hi there,
I received the same content. what does it mean btw? :) how long does it take after for passport request?

Hi Guys,

Today I got an email from CIC requesting for Bio-data.
I have done the medicals on Feb 20 and hoping that, they received my medical results.

Does anyone know how long does it take for PPR after the Bio-data request?

Thanks.

I have received the bio-data request as well. I am planning to print the attachment, fill-in the details, scan and email to CPPO.

Biodata request used to come with the Passport Request, but now it's separate - it appears as though it's another procedural change. Usually it takes between 1-3 months for a PPR after medicals. However it depends on your individual criminality checks which could slow the process down.

ECAS updated to decision made

The process for the May applicant got slower again.
I hope this will be getting faster next week.

And I got Bridging Open Work Permit and want to share its timeline with you guys.

My previous work permit will be expired on 1 March 2013.

Dec 25, 2012 Applied BOWP on-line
Feb 14, 2013 Requested the offer of employment
Feb 15, 2013 Uploaded explanation letter (Why I don't need to provide the offer of employment)
Feb 28, 2013 No response from CIC office even though the normal processing time was passed
Feb 28, 2013 Made a phone call to CIC call centre
Agent told me my work permit was issued on Feb 25, 2013 and will be delivered
Feb 28, 2013 Found it was delivered (Feb 25, 2013 - Feb 25, 2014)

Funny thing was my visa officer asked me to provide the offer of employment.
But, the person who already have the offer of employment doesn't need to apply this bridging open work permit.
They can simply apply the extension of their work permit without using this newly introduced program.

In my understanding, this BOWP is for the person who can't extend their work permit before they received the decision of permanent residency application.
Therefore, I had to explain this to my visa officer and finally he/she issued my work permit.

Thanks for sharing. We really need to hear about the experience.

Guys, its been 5 weeks since Ottawa recieved my passport and yet no answer and nothing in the mail, this is really frustrating

It's been 5 wks for me too since I paid the RPRF, sent copy of passport and bio data form.

How long do you think it will be?

Would love for it to arrive tomoz on my birthday.

Normally it should take 3 weeks at the most but this is getting rediclious,I have no clues when its going to arrive. lets keep our fingers crossed and hopefully it arrives today.

Re the employment letter part I dont agree...
The biggest positive effect that the BOWP has is that a PR candidate no longer have to worry about the LMO and the complicated requirements launched by HRSDC while their work permit is going to expire...And these people cannot just simply extend their work permits even with the current job/new job offer due to the LMO thing...
