Hello ggalex,
I also just got a response to the email i sent this morning. And yes, In the first email from CIC i did get an application number and UCI number but i did not include that in my copy paste here.

The email i got this morning says... ( See below )
--------------------------------
Good Morning,

This is in response to your email (see below).

Your application is in process. No further action is required by you at this time.

An immigration officer will be in contact with you if any further correspondence is needed.

We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.

For future reference, in all correspondence to our office, please refer to the applicant's full name, date of birth and file number
--------------------------------------------------

I guess this is a good sign. Could you advise of the next steps that i might have to go through.

Thank you very much.

Ok if they send you the UCI and Application number, then the email you got is AOR. It takes a while to see your ecas status updated after AOR so don't panic.

Hola guys.... Good news comes in...after a very very very long time.... they have finally asked for our passports... Now its the craze of sending my passports to canada... that is really a big task for me.. ;D ;D

Hi Bafakih,

Since you received your Application number and also the Client ID, I guess that would meant it was an AOR. Now its just the waiting stage. CIC will contact you if they need any other docs. And since you have already sent GCMS request, you will have some better idea on your case once you receive the GCMS notes in 30 days. But its good to know that CIC has atleast opened your file and given a file number to your case.

Please select the Act under which you are submitting the request. ( I selected "Access to Information Act")

For file Number: what number should i put on here. Is it the application number given in the email?
Also for location: what should i put on here.

@ Bafakih,

Wow - You are receiving your AOR just today. That's almost after a year. Have you been in touch with the call center or CPP-Ottawa regarding why your AOR has been delayed this much? Did you apply for GCMS notes to know why it has been delayed so much?

You can apply free online for GCMS notes and it will give you some idea about how far CIC has progressed on your case. CIC will send you a detailed pdf file almost after 30 days from the date of request.

Here's the link to apply it online: https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en

Let us know if you have any difficulty or questions while sending the online request.

If you are submitting the request on your own behalf, it will be "Privacy Act" or else "Access to Information Act".

Yes, its the application number that needs to be entered in the file number section. You may leave the location blank as you need to fill atleast one of the fields.

Hope this helps !

Hello Canadavisa07,

Landed this morning at local cic office. The process took only about 15 minutes but the wait time was about 40 minutes. Also renewed my SIN there right after landing process.

Congrats Sunapr...

I have a question here a bit outside the topic... does your SIN get changed after u become a PR? I mean a new number which is not starting from "9xx xxx xxx"?
