So I have completed my landing process! It was easy.
We left New West, BC, about 6pm, rainy Friday evening. The traffic was very light. We arrived the Douglas Peace Arch Boarder Crossing in 30min. We waited for about 30min and told the officer that we were here to do my flagpoling, he asked where we live and how we met. The officer gave us an orange sheet and instructed to go inside the building. No line. We presented our passports and waited for about 10 min. The officer called us and instructed where to go. He opened the roadblock himself. Then we went to Canadian boarder, waited only for one car, and here came our turn. We told the officer that we wanted to do flagpoling. He asked where we live, how we met, any properties to bring or intend to bring in the future, and directed us where to go. We parked our car where instructed and went inside the building. No line. I presented passports, CoPR, and study and work permits (I was thinking how much I spent on those applications......) and wrote down my mailing address while an officer was checking my CoPR and signing them. Then I signed them, too. Basically that was it. He gave me a document about PR, must have been copied numerous times, and asked if I have any questions. It only took 5 min at most. He congratulated me and gave me a little Canadian flag! The officer at the parking also said congratulations! Canadian officers are all very friendly and nice.
On the way home, we stopped at my BF's parents' place. They gave me little maple leaf and Canadian pins and sang "Oh! Canada" and toasted with sparkling wine!
I was smiling all afternoon and feel good even though I still have to find my job!am completely broke. I am so happy that I am now with the man I love so much on a permanent basis!
