No. Don't loose hope. We didn't have anything on may starting just yesterday, now we atleast know they are picking our files.

Hi fellow May 2012 applicants; I thought I should share that this morning, as I was checking the status of one of my sons' proof of Canadian Citizenship application, CIC added my sponsored spouse's application for Permanent Resident in Canada status ("Application Received"; also, "We received your application for PR in Canada on May 1").

I had applied to sponsor my US Citizen spouse on May 2012 from the USA (I'm a dual citizen residing in the USA); until this morning, I had not heard anything from cic. Actually, I have not received any emails or letters from them yet.

Could someone help me understand what's going on here?

The fact that you got confirmation of them having your application is a lot more than most of us here have so far. This is good news.

So, since I am running out of patience, I called cic. Of course, I didn't get through to a human. However, after inputting my CID number in, the robot message woman did confirm that my application was received on May 2nd. This doesn't mean much since I knew that anyway. But, it's time for them to open it and I have a feeling that today, Steph C, Canadaboi and I will get some good news. Positive thoughts!

No the rcpt number doesn't work for me either. I had the client ID from when I extended my visitor status.
